Default Hysterectomy..&..Kinda nervous

I just found out that i have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and then shortly after ( having a pap and biopcy) found I also now have Complex Hyperplasia...now I know it can always be worse, and I am greatful it not. but what do I need to expect now that we have decided to do the hysterectomy. how long will i be off work how long will I be off my feet, how bad will it hurt?
doc did say he can do it vaginally. and i have had my tubes tied abdominally. will it be easier or worse then that? and is there anything i need to prepare my self for....side effects wise.

any support or advice is greatly appreciated.
