I have the IUD for 2 years and a few months ago I was checking for the strings and i pulled out a snotty looking clump - lighty colored but no smell. I checked again and pulled out some smaller mucus ones. I freaked out and ran to the ER where I was given Goner/Chylm/Pap/Wet Prep tests - all were negative. (I am married for the past 10 years) but hey men are men!

SInce then I still have the snotty dishcharge on and off, feel itchy. I am going to get my IUD removed on Monday - but I am wondering if anyone has ever had any such problem. Also my vagina taste has changed, its almost sour. When I went to the ER the DR told me menstrual clots can get stuck in the string as well as semen. WHAT???? I never heard of this before.

The mucus is not the egg white type either - its strong and thicker.

HElP! The more info I have to go into my gyno with the better!
