I am 31 years old. I had a baby on January 24, 2007. After my baby I went on the Depo shot for birth control. I recently decided that I wanted to change my form of birth control as I have been gaining weight steadily for the last year. Last week Wednesday I went to my doctor and explained that I wanted to stop the shot and go on the patch. I also explained that I was on my ninth day of a really heavy period. She said that was common for women on the shot and that some women required an estrogen pill to help balance things. I was not given those pills but I started the patch that day, which contains estrogen. I am now on day fourteen of my period and bleeding quite heavily. I have to change my tampon every half hour and wear pads just in case and I am still bleeding through my cloths! Not to be gross, but I am also experiencing a lot of clots and I just don't feel like this is so "normal". I have called my doctor again but she has not yet called me back. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
