I know majority of people have it - for those that don't know its like canker sores, cold sores and if you've ever had one you have herpes too. Anyway what I would like to know is how I got one on my vagina when I haven't had sex or orals sex... have been fingered though. But its transfered by saliva so I don't know... I'd also like to know what the best meds are to prevent more of them... I know my doc recommended valtrex... Can it ever turn into type 2... whats the best way to make it go away fast, any home remedies? I'm so sick of this and its so painful! I'd also like to put out there that doctors are telling people its less likely to get sores on your genetals if you've had them in your mouth for most of your life and that is proven very false with me.... I'd reallly like to know the answers to those questions thank you all if you answer

    Default Herpes treatment

I don't know much about how or why you got herpes, but I got genital herpes from my ex a few years ago and I have some treatment options that might help without you having to go on the expensive prescription stuff:
Lysine is very helpful. Anything that boosts your immune system helps too: garlic, ginger, etc. Cutting down on sugar, alcohol, and other immune system depressants is also a good idea. Certain food, such as peanut butter, tend to trigger outbreaks so they should be avoided. You can get a complete list by googling the condition, sorry I don't know any good sites off hand. Also I have used topical stuff before. I don't know if this is a good idea (I used the oral stuff on my labia) but if yours is the oral virus it might not hurt and it might help. Lipacten was what I used.
I haven't had to use the prescription product since my first outbreak, and I am down to a very minor outbreak a couple times a year on average. I am currently with an unaffected partner and I am careful to not be with him if I have or think I am getting an outbreak. And, of course, I told him about my condition before we were together. That is essential. A lot of people aren't open about stuff like that but unfortunately that is why STDs are so prevalent.
Good luck with everything. I know how tough it is to go through this. Just know that it's more commmon than you think and you can always PM me if you would like to talk.
    Cheers.
