Question I finished my period yet...

about a week later I am experiencing brown discharge. I'm not sure this calls for a checkup, but I don't smell an unusual odor. It looks just like what accumulates right before and after your period, at times. However, I am feeling some UTI like symptoms and more tenderness than usual in the pelvic area. I'm also getting bad hormonal breakouts for the first time....mostly around my chin and mouth. I wonder if the symptoms are related to each other. I haven't been sexually active for 7 months and i'm 29. My last pap was about 7 months ago as well. Should i waste the copay to see someone or does this sound familiar?

Perhaps your cycle is changing? I would just ride it out unless, of course, you do get a UTI or the pelvic tenderness is bad. Some people can spot when they are ovulating, and maybe that is what the tenderness is coming from as well. It doesn't have anything to do with your not having sex, that's for sure!

If it persists, I'd say get that co-pay ready.

I would agree with LadyLane i know that my body changed once i made 30. My periods changed esp and so did the length of my cycle. I also had to deal with acne and hair in strange places.

Usually the doctor tells you that brown blood is old blood so i would say not to worry but deffinently keep a note on how much, how long and if you had any pain prior to or during the time you notice the brown blood.
I would do this just in case your doctor thinks it is something that needs to be looked into.

Good luck to you and i hope i have been of some help to either you or another person looking at this post.
