Default YAZ to make me ovulate?

Okay so to start with, I haven't had my period since February (this isn't the first time I have had "issues", I have only had 4 periods for the last year). All my labs have come back normal that my PCP ran and I am not pregnant. So naturally my PCP sent me to a fertility specialist to find out why I am not having a period/ ovulating. Well, although I am ready4mommyhood... my husband is not so sure if he is ready4daddyhood so instead of putting me on Clomid like most people would be the specialist put me on YAZ and told me that if I got my period I was ovulating. I thought YAZ, as with other BCpills, inhibited ovulation. Has anyone heard of this before or have any advice? I feel like he just looked me over and sent me on my way without getting to the root of the problem. Although my husband isn't 100% about being a dad, if there is something wrong that will make our chances of getting pregnant less and less, we would like to start trying now. I told him this and his response was... "no really, do you guys want a kid right now or not?" I was shocked!

I never heard of this and I think its strange... but I know that some time ago I was put on a drug called Lupron to suppress my period and shock my body into a type of menopause... and someone I know was put on the exact same thing to help her with fertility!

So you never know, but a second opinion, especially when the doctor has not gotten to the root of your problem, seems necessary to me.

I believe you need to see an endocrinologist, not necessarily a fertility specialist right away. Just someone to tell you what's going on with your body.
