    hello
i am new here and have been reading a lot of the posts which are very informative. about a week ago my husband and i had intercourse and i have been irritatated ever since. everything is sore....i'm feeling a combination of itching, burning, soreness, etc. i have been taking baths, using cold compresses and also a 1 percent hydrocortisone cream. at the beginning i used A & D ointment which seemed to cause swelling. i'm not sure if i should see my doctor or just give it some more time. everytime i think it is getting better, it starts up again. maybe i am doing too much and irritating it more?
    thanks

    Legallyprotected,

I can't say for sure, but it sounds like it might be a yeast infection or vaginitis. I've had them a few times and my symptoms were like those described:constant itching, burning, and soreness. I know that drinking cranberry juice helps with yeast, not sure how. But you should get checked by your doctor to be sure before trying any medications.

Yes get to the doctor asap. You may have a STD. Not saying you do, just saying its best to get diagnosed by a doctor, especially if you are having those symptoms. good luck.
