Exclamation irregular period questions...please help.

Hi,
I'm 21 and my period has never been regular. My mom and grandmother both had irregular periods as well, so it may be hereditary, but my sister who is 24 is regular. Sometimes I don't have a period at all (or I skip periods). I never know when I am going to start. A few weeks ago I spotted for two days and thought I may start soon but nothing happened and I did not start. I getwhite/clear discharge often, as well. Also, my eating habits are irregular. Last time I saw the doctor and told her of my symptoms she said it may be a thyroid problem at tested my blood but all the tests came out negative. Does anyone have a clue of what this may be? I have also been sexually active for 2 years and don't know if this has anything to do with it.

It sounds like it could be endometriosis. Plz talk to your doc about this so you know for sure. Good luck! Take care.

The discharge is noraml its the bodys way of cleaning you know! Periods are effected by everything from your stress levels to exercising to little to much, your hormones all sorts of things . When I first got my period it lasted 7 days then 2-3 years ago went to 6 days now for a year it lasts 5 days . So getting older and your body going through changes also has an effect on your periods. You can go and should go to the gyno just to make sure nothings wrong but I'm sure your just fine. It doesnt sound like nothing bad . Birth control can really help with irregular periods
