A miracle cure??
I posted a thread earlier and have not recieved any replies yet. I seem to be suffering with symptoms of BV, thrush and urine infection type problems yet all test results have come back clear and because of this my doctor refuses to prescibe anything else. After reading lots of threads on here I discovered that acidophilius is mentioned a lot, along with multi-vitamins (with zinc) and flax oil. So yesterday I decided to give these a go. I've been taking two acidophilius capsules, two flax oil capsules and a multivitamin that contains zinc. I also used two acidophilius capsules as suppositories last night and will do the same tonight. And guess what....so far it's helping!!! The itching has gone entirely and the burning is only present now when I pee - but this is less than before. I'm going to continue with this treatment and see if it continues to work and improve my symptoms further. Just a quick question though - does anyone know if the acidophilius will possibly help with the urine infection type symptoms when I pee?
But seriously, if anyone hasn't tried acidophilius, flax oil and multi-vitamins yet then try it now!!! It just might be a miracle cure and it's beyond me why doctors don't mention it when all else fails.

Wow, I'm really glad you posted this because I think I'm going to try it out. I've had similar problems...sort of...since February and the doctors I've seen can't figure me out! They tested for absolutely every vaginal infection and I've been tested for std's and I'm still a mystery case (all tests came back neg.), so I'm glad to hear there's something that might at least help a bit. Where do you find the acidophilius capsules you're talking about? Just like a drugstore?

You really should try it. My symptoms are improving daily. Fingers crossed it keeps working. It's good to hear i'm not the only one with 'mystery symptoms'. I'm sure my doctor thinks I'm mad!
Are you in the UK or US? I'm UK so I bought the acidopillus capsules and flax oil from a well-known heath food shop (i don't think I'm allowed to name it on here but most health food shops should sell it). It's also easy to find online.
However, if you're in the US you should look for Primadophilus which lists lactobacillus reuteri and lactobacillus rhamnosus as ingredients. Reuteri and rhamnosus are also 'friendly bacteria' and are even more likely to colonise inside the vagina than acidophillus. You can't buy Primadophilus in the UK but it is available in the US from health food shops or online. I think you can ship it to the UK from online US health stores or a well known online bidding site but I'm not sure what taxes you'll pay???
Good luck and let me know how you get on.

Sorry I just checked and the correct spelling is "Acidophilus" - just incase you have trouble finding it!
