Is this bacterial vaginosis?
I have always had excessive vaginal discharge, but every once in a while it's so bad it's distracting. I'll be sitting there and suddenly it feels like my panties are filled, and they are, essentially. It's disgusting.
I was concerned before, but was pacified by all the articles telling me that I was just one of the women who got the lucky set of genetics for more discharge then others. I ran into bacterial vaginosis though, and the nice pictures that google came up with, and it strikes a resemblance. Especially since most women don't know they have it.
However, I've never had any odor. Never had the "characteristic fishy" smell or musky, unless people have a different definition of fishy then I do. No itching or burning, and no irritation as far as I can tell. But I still have that thin, almost milky discharge.
I'm hesitant to go to the doctor, because they make me nervous, and it's expensive--something I can't really afford right now, for something that's merely a nuisance I've had, as far as I can tell, since vaginal discharge existed in my life.
But I am curious if anyone's /not/ had an odor with the infection?

yes, it could be B.V.
I just got through with a course of metronidazole for B.V. just days ago! I thought it was a yeast infection, but after using two over the counter creams, I was still having lots of discharge and burning/itching! My gynecologist did a "wet prep" to look for BV..and it was positive! However, it never really smelled all that bad! I never had any "fishy" odor, although I did notice the discharge was a bit stronger smelling when I would go to the bathroom! Some women don't have every symptom, so if it continues, I would get checked out just to be sure! The metronidazole ( I took 500 mg tablets) worked like a charm...I was better literally the very next day!
