Default Chronic Pain, Bleeding not taken seriously

Hi Everyone,

Please let me know if you have any advice or suggestions on this issue.

I'm a 33 year old lady who has experienced progressively worse pelvic pain over the past year. During my period, I am generally incapacitated for about 2 days. I bleed heavily, to the point of having to put a mattress protector on my bed to "save" my mattress. I pass a lot of clots. My old bathroom had carpet, and I had to put plastic on the floor due to the excessive bleeding. I generally become nauseated, and the pain is unbearable. I lay in my bed and cry. It was never this bad before.

To make matters worse, the pain has now increased to the level of being constant, even when I'm not menstruating. The day to day pain is generally a dull throbbing, mixed with intermittent sharper pains in the pelvic area. I experience a dark brown, clumpy discharge most of the month except of course when I'm having the "flood." My daily pain radiates to my lower back and even down my thighs at times. I constantly feel the need to urinate, and have to get up several times each night. I cannot be far from a restroom even during the daytime hours.

I've addressed this with 2 different doctors. One tried to give me birth control pills, which I had adverse reactions to in my 20's. I declined to take them. He did not have any other options for me because I do not have children. He explained that my fertility was very important to preserve. I do not want children, and never have. However, he refused to believe it. I went to a second doctor in hopes of finding answers. Same thing. However, instead of trying to push the birth control pills, he tried to get me to take Lupron. He explained that this would only provide temporary relief but if I had endometriosis, it would shrink the implants possibly giving me time to complete my childbearing. I explained that I did not wish to have children now or anytime in the future.

This doctor became hostile and told me that sometimes "women who decide not to have children just suffer with the pain until menopause." I was livid. He told me that I should really consider pregnancy and I should consider it soon because as women get older their fertility decreases. I told him that I thought it was "wrong for someone to intentionally conceive an unwanted baby." I explained that I have never wanted to bear children, and that I contribute to society in other ways such as volunteering to help the needy, including disadvantaged children. He told me to "have my babies" then I would have more treatment options. I am livid.

Does anyone have any tips on dealing with doctors? I don't understand why they don't believe me. I have so far avoided ER visits and suffered quietly. I'm wondering if I need to start presenting myself to their offices or the ER especially during the monthly "flood" and in between for the brown discharge and pain. It seems like all they are focused on is my ability to have children, without any regard to my pain, health, or my personal choices. This has gotten to the point that I've gained 15 pounds, I've had to give up my exercise program, I cannot stand on my feet for long periods due to pain, I miss work frequently (I'm on corrective action for attendance), I must carry a change of clothes wherever I go, and I am chronically tired. And these "doctors" are basically pushing me to get pregnant when I've made it plain that this is not in my plans.

Any suggestions?

I have been dealing with almost the exact same symptoms for amlost three months now and have seen several different doctors who all just keep blowing me off too. I have had my tubes tied so I don't have that issue, but they still don't seem to care what i'm going through. If you ever get any answers please let me know.

Default I think i know

Hey there I know exactly what you are going through right now. To tell you the truth I have been going through chronic pain for about a year now. I didnt have the painful periods at all untill now bewcause i was on the depo shot since I had my daughter in 2003. I had my tubes tied and now am getting my period. And yes it hurts so bad you wanna cry and just keel over.

I have been tsted very numerous times to find out my chronic pelvic pain. I went to my family Dr and he tried test after test nothing showed up so he sent me to the 1st specialist so said I had IBS syndrome which sure makes sense for my stomach pain but not like I had my period 24/7. I told him where the pain hurt thr worst and he never looked into that. Told me not to worry he didnt think I needed any surguries in the near future. Well my fam Dr wasnt satisfied so I went under more tests and then I got a urinary tract infection and couldnt see my dr so I saw his assisant. She ordered a pelic ultrasound and found abnormalities and saw a cyst that had ruptured. Since then I have had quite a few rupture

So therefore I was seen bya GYN and he tied my tubes and did a laproscopic view of everything to try and figure out what is wrong with me Well to come to my point he had found that I had Endometriosis and that I had the worst case of it he has ever seen. By what I read I have stage 4 which i guess is the worst and I have excessive endometriosis is the other word for it that was used.

I hope this helps be persistant on haveing a pelvic ultrasound done or if that doesnt show anything ask about a laparoscopy procedure. This way they can really look around and find what is causing the pain which in all honesty I feel you have all the signs of endometriosis here is a good site you can look at about it Information on Endometriosis or here is another one that I have looked at many times Endometriosis: Interactive Support & Information there is alos a support group there that is very helpful which I love all the support Ic an get this sia great site along with this one

Hope all this helps you are in my prayers Be Strong and dont give up I pray all your questions are answered as It is very stressfull not knowing what is wrong Take care and if you need to talk you can email me forevermezmerizedhotmail.com

Default Chronic Pain

I also suffered with pain and SO many other health issues. I was 22 yrs old when I was first diagnosed with stage IV endometriosis and it all went down hill for me from there. I have had laporoscopies, endoscopies, hystosalpingograms, D&C's, etc, etc. I had stomach problems, infertility, chronic sadness, severe headaches, constipation, weight gain, PCOS, etc. I don't think there was much out there left for me to get diagnosed with. I lived a very sad & unhealthy life. And it wasn't by choice. I ate healthy & exercised & yet I was exhausted & could never even get a good night's sleep. I Felt as if it was too late & there was no help for me. The only thing I knew was that my health was worse day by day. I would also miss work 2-3 days every single month because I could not get out of bed & lived with a heating pad. I had large clots, and bled heavily. And when I wasn't on my period I was sick with something else. The only thing I ever got from my docs was yet ANOTHER prescpription for the pain and yet another sugery. Unfortunately, that led to other health issues. I guess those side effect of some of the meds really can do a number on the body. I often wondered if my body didn't eventually become so toxic with all the prescriptions I was given over the years. I also believe it was because of poor nutrition, lack of vitamins, & minerals (this was probably the problem in the first place & then all the meds). I think IT all finally took a toll on my body. Anyway, I am now 41 yrs old and FINALLY found relief over a year ago with a nutritional cleansing/detox program. I think if I would have known to look into this safe, natural alternative & high grade organic nutrients from the very start, I may have saved myself a lot of years of pain & suffering. I do know that for the first time in 19 yrs, I no longer suffer from severe cramping, bloating, headaches, moodiness, and all the other problems and have finally found relief. I even lost 2 dress sizes in 1 1/2 months by cleansing & feeding my body organic high grade nutrients, vitamins, & minerals like this system provided me. I wish I would have known about this long ago. I'm no expert but something has got to explain why this system that is loaded with organic high quality nutrients helped me so much. I am here to lend an ear or shoulder if you need one.

Blessings,
Rose

Default Chronic Pain

The cleanse I did was a complete cleanse. I had done a lot of reading about the health benefits of cleansing but I had no clue when I went to the health food store. There were SO many. There were some for the liver, for the colon, etc. I didn't know which one to pick so I decided to wait. And just when I was going to go back and pick something, I got really lucky. Well I like to think of it as God was watching over me & seeing my desperation. Anyway, I was at a health fair when I came across the one I found. It is a TOTAL body cleanse to include cleansing all your vital organs including your lympathic system. It is actually designed to feed your body and not starve it. I was immediately impressed. In the first 3 days I felt so amazing & had so much energy and could think clearer & I had also flushed out 4 lbs of toxic waste & fat. By day 10, I had lost 7 lbs, & 8 1/2 inches (2inches from my waist alone). As I continued doing the program with the nutrition (shakes too), my health just kept improving. By my 2nd month I no longer got the cramping, bloating, headaches, etc. And I also dropped 2 dress sizes in 1 1/2 months. It has now been over a year and I am still at my size 6 & have no health problems. I recommend it to everyone. I will pm you the information if you want. Maybe I can bless someone else with their health like I was fortunate to be blessed with mine. I also love that it comes with a 30 day money back guarantee. I especially liked that because I did not know ANYONE who had tried this cleanse. But of course, I never had to return it.

Blessings,

Rose
