    Lightbulb Vaginal Spasms

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me out.

About three weeks ago I had a urinary tract infection. I self medicated with cranberry pills, cranberry juice, water, and over the counter AZO. I have felt better since then, but have still continued to drink only water and cranberry juice.

Since then I have had constant vaginal spasms or contractions. It happens no matter what. My boyfriend and I tried to have sex this morning and I had a hard time allowing him to enter and the sex wasn't very enjoyable. Needless to say I never achieved an orgasm either.

I'm not sure what is going on and why this is happening. Can any one offer suggestions or advice. This is driving me nuts.......thanks.

    Default Please someone help

I just recently begun having this same problem myself!
I, however, have not had a UTI nor am I sexually active. The spasms just started two days ago (one day before my period started) with no known cause. This has never happened before and I'm not sure how to stop them.
Please, can someone offer any advice (how they started, what they mean, how to get them to stop)?

My 12 year old has been suffering with this problem for the past 12 months. She is NOT sexually active and has never had any trauma or abuse. It all began with a urinary tract infection which went undetected for several months because she wasn't having any pain or irritation. I am very upset with her pediatrician because when my husband and I took our daughter to the pediatrician, he automatically said the feeling was all in our daughter’s mind and she needed to see a psychologist. Two months later we took her to a gynecologist, who immediately took a urine specimen and fount the UTI. She said that because the UTI went untreated so longer the spasms started. After the UTI went away, the spasms were still occurring. We then took our daughter to an urologist. He did a sonogram of the bladder and pelvic area and started her on medicine. He diagnosed the problem as bladder spasms. The spasms decrease from twenty a day to about 10 a day. We followed the urologist advice; however, something in my mind kept telling me that this isn't the correct diagnosis. Our daughter says she feels the feeling inside her vagina and it lasts from 30 to 60 seconds. It happens more at night time and sometimes wakes her from her sleep. It happens at school, church...anywhere. Sometimes when she hears certain noises or gets very stressed while doing homework the spasms increase. We recently took her to an Adolescent Gynecologist. This doctor took her off all medicine. She believes they are spasms, maybe related to weak muscles. She told our daughter to practice "kegal" exercises (contracting and relaxing the muscles that form part of the pelvic) throughout the day to strengthen these muscles. We are doing everything we can to help our daughter. If it’s any comfort...don't give up..you aren't the only one with a similar problem.
