Default Lenght of hair when waxing?

I've never tried waxing anywhere other than my eyebrows. But I've heard that you obviously have to have a certain amount of hair there for them to wax but that also it shouldn't be too long as that will be more painful? Anyone know?

It really depends on the type of wax. There are about three or four major manufacturers of 'professional' waxes. Each have an assortment of waxes available. Some of these waxes can remove hairs as short as 1 millimeter in length. The majority of professional grade waxes can easily, and efficiently remove hairs as short as 2 millimeters in length. When talking about home waxing kits that you buy in a drug store or supermarket, generally the hairs need to be about 1/4" in length for best results though it is possible to remove hairs as short as 1/8" with a few of these brands. Just for comparison, 1/4" is a little over 6 millimeters in length. So, it really comes down to the brand of wax being used. Keep in mind that not all 'professionals' use professional grade waxes. Many use brands which are available without a license and are available to the general public in places like Sally Beauty Supply, and are available online as well.
Let it suffice to say that hairs between 1/8" and 1/4" can be easily removed with practically any brand of wax whether you do the waxing at home, or choose to have a pro do the waxing for you. I hope that helps?
