I've got very fair skin with dark hair, especially between my butt crack. I've had it since I was a young teenager. Let me tell you, from my own experience I firmly believe it is all about confidence. I used to be embarrassed of my "problem" but I don't think guys really care. I dated my now ex-boyfriend for 4 1/2 years and he loved my butt. The hair in between my cheeks and around my anus never bothered him. In fact, it seemed to turn him on. I've never removed the hair there and I most likely never will. If a guy has a problem with it, he's been brainwashed by the media to think girls should only have hair on their head.

Okay, let me just start off by saying it sucks how long it takes to find this thread in a search engine when you type in "women butt hair".... some pretty nasty sites show up, ha.

Anyway, I feel everyone's pain here. It's a sickeningly insecure issue. As it's most common for women to have hair in the lining of their bum, ya know, PUBIC hair, it's not so common to have that thick, darker hair ON the bum. I've tried to do some reading on possible reasons for it, and besides certain ethnicities having more/darker hair than some, hormonal issues popped up a lot, too. I'm not quite sure if that's an issue for me, since I have a pretty regular period. Who knows.

Well, back to the hair. I probably didn't notice any sort of hair on my bum until a few years ago (I'm 23 now). I don't know if I just wasn't looking before, or if it had just started to become more noticeable. I believe I started tanning around that time... 6-10 times a month ...something like that. Anyway, I have really fair colored skin, and I've heard that your skin starts to grow hair to protect you from the sun??? I don't know, but I have noticed more light, fuzzy hairs all over my body... could just be more noticeable from having tanner skin (I only tan before a trip, so I'm far from a "tanaholic"). SoOo, I'm thinking maybe the lighter, natural hair that we all have on our butts just... had some sort of reaction, and voila! A disgusting bum?? Ha, not a clue.

Okay, okay, so I'm rambling! Alright, so I bought the Tria Hair Remover Laser system thing (you'll be glad to know it's a few hundred dollars less than what I bought it for :-( ). I've only used the laser a few times. It's been hard to find the time to torture myself, and you have to start off doing it every two weeks. Ha, discomfort is not that bad... just little rubber band snaps... more intense at the highest setting. Anyhow, I think I'm going to try it on my bum. You have to shave, though, so that's what's keeping me from doing it these past few months. The closer the shave, the less pain. Ugh. I really have to get dedicated to doing it, 'cause if it works, in 6-8 months... it may no longer be an issue for me. THAT WOULD BE AMAAAAZING. So, I'll try to come back to the board later and let you guys know how it goes, 'cause I know if any of you feel as half as bad as I do about it, then this could be a total blessing. ♥

Just out of curiosity, does the gene that gives women a hairy butt, come from their mothers side, or their fathers?

Unhappy I too have hair on my bottom

I just wanted to say hi and to let you know that you are most definetely not alone with your problems and feelings. My father is Portugese and very hairy, and I think unfortunately I got most of his genes when it came to body and facial hair. It all started when I was about 11 years old (I am now 30). I have thick, black, stubbly hair all over my body: My upper lip, jaw, chin, in between my eyebrows, my forehead, upper back, chest, belly, lower back, hands, arms, knuckles, bottom (and it's extremely excessive down there), legs, feet, and toes. I was sitting in a park quite a few years ago with some people I didn't know too well and apparently my shirt had lifted enough when I was sitting that it showed all the dark hair on my lower back. He leaned over and said to me, "You must have alot of hair on your . I bet you have to shave it." WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE SAY THINGS LIKE THIS??? Anyway, I can completely relate to how you feel. I've had boyfriends dump me because of my excessive hair, and the ones I have been with sexually, I make sure the lights are low enough that hopefully they won't see the hair on my bottom very well. I did have a boyfriend that approached the situation delicately, and lightly burned all the long hairs around my hole off for me. Unfortunately, we broke up and it grew back. I asked a girl friend of mine to shave around the hole for me, but she went overboard and basically shaved my whole bottom. Even though I've let it completely grow out at times, it is still ALWAYS prickly, no matter what. The last guy I slept with I knew was discusted with what he saw, and didn't want to have sex with me again after that. I'm sorry that I don't have any answers for you, but I do want you to know that you're not alone. I don't know what to do about it either as I am very low income and cannot afford electrolysis, laser, or anything like that. I tweeze where i can, and shave my legs, bottom, knuckles, feet, and toes. It's very hard to live with, and I too have to take care of it first thing in the morning before my boyfriend sees it, and also stash all my embarrasing hair removal items. I hate that it takes up so much of my life and so much of every day. It's an extreme burden that no woman should have to endure. Anyone out there that can relate I would love to hear from you. Thanks.

Well when i was 11 i shaved my legs,& arms for the first time.
later then i shaved my vagina & then my stomach because you could see the hairss. Im ok with the shaving the stomach thing though cus my closest friend does it too'
Then after still at age 11 i shaved my butt'D:
I regret itt but i only did it once & the hair isint really noticable
    but you can feel it':/
NOw i am 13 & i am scared when it comes to having relationships that the guy might not want to .

Somthing that i found out is that you can use the gel thingy that you blech your upper lip with & do that so you wnt see the hairs
somthing that ive thought of is when you blech your hair on your head
if you do it to many times it falls out.
So im thinking one day ima do it
    & i so R E G R E T shaving my booty hair'/x
