I am 16 and became very aware of how dark my hair was when I was 12, my sister who was 15 at the time pointed it out. I have extremely dark hair on my arms because when I was 10 I was asleep and my sister shaved my arms as a joke, only the hair has grown back longer, darker and thicker. I also have the problem where the hair on my bottom is long, dark, coarse, thick and grows back very quickly leaving ingrown hair, pimples, rashes and soreness. I made the mistake of starting to shave after my doctor told me to when I was 13, and so I now have the problem 10 times worse. Because of this, I have ended up having some very embarrassing conversations with my mum, who of course will not let me have a full body wax. And so I bought and epilator, of which I am trying tonight. I am also going to try and persuade my mum into letting me try Kalo hair Inhibitor.

Many people say this is a problem that doesn't matter, but in the minds of people that have this problem, it does matter, and subconsciously it does matter to everyone, tests have proven it. I personally am very embarrassed to have someone anywhere near my private area, but maybe as I grow up, I may decide that I want it done. My point is, do what you feel comfortable doing, not what other people expect you to do, people will always be prejudice and dislike what is different, it is the way we get through the day, finding faults in ourselves and each other. If it really does bother you, try to pluck up the courage, ask a family member or friend to go with you, and together get waxed or whatever makes you feel comfortable. Don’t let something like this bring you down, my mum has been drumming that into my head for about 3 years now, if that doesn’t work, try being open with a friend you trust, you may find out they have the same problem.

Hope this helps and good luck.

For those of you who mentioned it, does waxing your butt really hurt?
Me too have it but not that thick. I find it normal and there's nothing to be ashamed of.. But if its too think then thats the time to shave it a little..

I'm trying to figure out if it's actual dark manly hair or if it's just peach fuz... cause I've peach fuzz on my booty too, though I have a bit of a dark spot on my lower back my bf pointed out to me which I smiled and told him "I can't see it so it's not going anywhere," he laughed and said he didn't care anyway. It's not like it's black, coarse hair either, just a slightly darker spot that can be noticed. Which if it's not black coarse stuff... I don't understand why you're trying to get rid of it anyway. XD I mean if it's like your pubic hair I could understand.

Oh, to the guy I saw post (men are suppose to be hairy) little secret there, but I'm a weird female, I like my men with a bit of chest hair, but I also don't completely shave my hootchie or go awall about shaving everything else. lol I've got some pretty dark arm hair and my bf, when we started dating, asked me if I'd shave it which I quickly told him that was not an option. I'm heavy Italian so I've pretty dark hair across my body, and I'm not shaving all of it, I do the underarms, legs and part of my hootchie cause I love the oral luff and I can't blame him for not wanting to go down to a bush. Not to mention the facial stuff I have to tend to regularly.

Ultimately, body hair is natural, yes it looks nice when it's not there, but there's no reason to get stressed over it.

I'm in my mid 20's and have had the same problem for years and thought I was one of FEW that struggled with it. I am so relieved to find this thread....I have no idea if I truly have a problem or not because I have not talked about this with anyone ever (too embarrassed). I have longer than peach fuzz hair on my buttocks that is blonde and lightly dark all over (you can only see it in strong lighting or sun)...but it is all very fine hair. Is that something to be concerned about?? I'm so insecure about it that I'm absolutely terrified for any guy to see or feel it...I was thinking of laser treatment but I don't think my hair is dark enough for it to really work.

rosewhite... sounds like peach fuz to me, mines probably darker than yours just cause the body hair I do have is all dark. I have hair on my rear, I notice it... and I don't care. Boyfriend don't care either. It's not like it's coarse and thick, he bites my rear a lot. O.o; so apparently it's no big deal. Just light brown, fine hair (on me anyway)

Really, don't worry about it, it's normal to have body hair.

OMG Thank you for posting this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im so hairy and to shy to get laser/wax and shaveing has made everything worse, plus getting cut by a crappy blade near the back part of the paraniem really hurts!!!!! (and that never got all the hair anyway cuz i cant see my huge butt behind me O_o) I have more hair in my 'inner' butt region (thats spreading to the 'outer') and it sucks!! I already use nair cream for my face problem but never knew they had wax!!! Sounds easy enough to do by myself. Next trip to walmart! lol. Im 19 and have been dealing with this since I was 12/13. I tried to get some advise from my mom about it and I was serious and she decided to laugh at me and threated to tell my sister . Im to ashamed of this to have a boyfriend let alone to be around my teasing sisters!
