Alright. I'm desperate, so I thought I'd ask some of you on this board.
First, I have a lot of hair down there. I mean, it's REALLY bad. There's a LOT, and it covers a lot of area. I can't even wear shorts! Regular underwear doesn't cover it up!. It's spread down my inner thighs and in the front, and it's really thick also. It's horribly embarrassing. Is that normal? Anyways, I'd like to be able to wear a swimsuit and wear shorts, and it's a pain to shave down there, but my biggest problem is that it's always unbearably itchy when the hair grows back. Is there any way around the itch when it grows back? Also, what hair removal cream works the best? Nair? Veet? Something else? Thanks so much for all your help |

My cousin goes completely bare which I cannot do because I get all itchy afterwards...anyway, she uses oil afterwards that helps alleviate all that. Almond or Vit.E oil. Doesn't hurt to try. Also, I suggest laser with someone who knows what they are doing. Best of luck!

I have hair that creeps down a little onto my thighs as well, but not too bad. I wax my bikini line and that thigh area, which works pretty well and stays smooth longer than shaving. You also don't get razor burn. Like you, I tend to get a little bushy down there as well. Instead of shaving myself bald, I trim short using a beard trimmer. It's a lot safer than taking a razor to that area and I find it actually makes me itch less. Don't go too short though. Hope that helps!
Also, I wouldn't use any sorts of chemical hair removal near your genitals. Since the skin is sensitive down there, you may get a burn.

I was probably as bad as you were. Before Laser I was unable to wear shorts or dresses. I would shave in the morning and it would grow back by the afternoon. I finally had laser removal done and it has changed my life. The hair is not completely removed but it is 90% gone. Which is a blessing for me. Now, all I wear is dresses.. I feel feminine not manly. Good luck!

I strongly believe in the beard trimmer. My mom introduced it to me and I have bought one for my 13 year old as well. I would not put a razor near my genitals. It feels like a cactus growing through my skin when the hair would grow back. With the trimmer you dont have to worry about hurting yourself and you can cut it as short as you want and dont have to worry about bumps and itching. You can get a battery operated one at walmart for about $10.00 and the batteries last a good while and they have them in pink, purple, and silver. We have the pink and purple. It comes with attachments for your eyebrows and extensions to cut the hair in different lengths and a couple of other things. It is the greatest. But any beard shaver for men will do just fine too.

VEET, works well, however you have to time it exactly because if you do one less minute it doesn't work and so is a waste of time, if you do one extra minute you have to be careful as well.
Out of interest, someone said about going completely bare down there, sounds silly but how, if you shave you won't be able to get rid of it all...surely it would look like stuble and when I have waxed before it bled when the woman pulled it off and was very sore. Perhaps Veet would work but you'd need about two tubes for one go! |

Hi I to have a genitic disposition towards being very hairy down there, through trying everthing I found that shaving made the hair grow back thicker and tougher, veet was good for a day or two and prone to burn if left on to long so it was waxing and it is so much better you just need to consider where you are getting it done and what kind of wax they are using. Try small first go a full leg wax and a bikini wax it will cause a bit of pain but the next day you feel free and can see the results. My Beautition has also given me a hair growth deterant to use and a great exfoliation get as well. Only thing is you need to have a bit of extra cash in your bank account to keep it up.
Good luck |

Hi,
I don't have a problem with a lot of hair down there but I like it to be completely hair free and have kept that up for years. Here is the best system for me: I use Parissa Wax strips....they are AWESOME!!! Plus they come with a little vial of the soothing oil for afterwards. Take some ibuprofen maybe a half hour before hand and choose a time of month before your period as your skin is less sensitive. Trim the hair to 1/4" I've found that shaving it and waiting for it to grow back in a 1/4" makes it all even and easier to wax then trying to trim chunks with the scissors. Then squat with legs far apart and skin tight. Have a good mirror under you with good lighting, a pair of good tweezers and some scissors for cutting the strips to size. There are a few topical pain relievers you can get spray on ones and such with lidocaine and if it is your first time it might be worth it to track one of these products down. Anyway, trim the strips into whatever size works best for the area you are working on. Follow the directions on the box for laying down in the direction of hair growth pulling skin taught and removing in opposite direction. Just be fast! After you are done I've found that patches of strays are easy to remove with fingers sticky in the wax or your tweezers. Then I wipe down the entire area with a disinfectant...like alcohol(hurts but sure saves those little zits the next day) and then slather on the soothing oil...and go pantyless with a long skirt on or something....if it is a little too painful a cold soak in the tub works wonders. The first time will hurt and there might be a little bit of blood...second time hurt too but each time got less and less painful and the hair grows in finer and sparser. The next day I will lather on some shaving cream and use a new razor and then you will feel soft and smooth and completely silky....I shave for about two weeks for upkeep and before shaving do a vigorous scrub with a salicylic facial scrub (like saint ives medicated) to prevent ingrowns, use a little of the oil afterward. Then I just do the scrub for the rest of the month until it grows in enough and then wax again. I do the same with my armpits and the hair eventually almost stops growing back in. Good LUck! ![]() Shaving is itchy and burny and stubble feels nasty creams irritate my skin wax tubs are MESSY! Hot wax is difficult and sometimes extremely painful Trust me, I've tried it all...Parissa WAX strips for body!!!! |

What I've found that works the best for me is Avon's skin so soft hair removal cream...I also had that problem after I shaved when the hair grows back it itched so bad, I was scared people might think I had crabs or something and after I started using Avon's hair removal cream..no problems at all!! It leaves me clean as a baby's bottom and when the hair grows back it does not itch at all.....try it, it worked for me...
