I've gone ice skating once or twice, and it is really fun. You shouldn't need to take classes. It's about the same as skating with rollerblades (it's not exactly like regular roller skates) except you'll probably fall on your behind a few times ... I definitely did. It helps to have someone who's done it before hold your hand.
So bring along the hubby And before you know it, your little girl will be ice skating along with you! Well, it may have to wait until after she learns to walk

Pretty much what Little said. I myself love to ice skate then figured skated and then played ice hockey. I never took lessons until I got really serouis into it. It is like roller blading but on thiner blades and on ice you will fall thats normal just be careful. Also when you fall don't put your hands out it gives a chance of someone running them over. The buddy thing is a great idea, and also a good way to learn. But you don't have to take lessons in less you want to. Have fun!

Bring a friend with you to the local ice skating rink to help you. Obviously, bring someone who knows how to ice skate. If not then take classes or just try it
