My Aunt is a seamstress and she has offered me lessons. I'm taking her up on that and am getting into sewing. I want to be able to make my own clothes as I hate what is "in style" now a days. the clothes at the store just make me want to run around naked so learning to sew is going to be fun. I've started to design a few things to make and I plan on bringing back the Bell-bottoms!

i love sewing!! i started when i was around 10 and within the last 9 years i've made some pretty cool things. i like making quilts and wall hangings and even though it's really relaxing and cool to see everything come together sometimes it's really frustrating. i just finished a king sized quilt a few weeks ago before i had to come back to college for the new semester. getting a new machine is sooo exciting!! my mom got me a old singer for my birthday a few years ago. i love it! well keep sewing and good luck with your new machine!

HUmmm, you mean real bell bottoms? Where you open the side seam to the knee and sew in a triangle of fabric?

I would love to have my own sewing machine as well even though it means I have to go to a voctech school to learn.

Nikky, you should look around your area for schools that train individuals. I will do that myself.

Most fabric stores will either offer classes or have a list of people who teach. I used to.

I just asked my OH if he would sleep in a bedding set I had made, his reply was 'You sometimes forget to put your shoes on in the morning....' He looked a bit horrified. Oh well. I could make the cat a blanket LOL.
