Sewing Machine!

So as some of you may know i love to sew but i only ever had one of those mini cheap little sewing machines...so the other day i decided im going to buy a proper one! So i brought myself a really cool sewing machine!

Im still trying to figure out what all the parts are for but hey! now i can make cool rocker clothing :P

I got myself a second hand janome! Not sure if thats a world wide known brand but its really good here in Aussie so im really excited to start using it!

Anyone else out there enjoy sewing??

yup... it should do well for you. I used to sew a lot but after baby #2 haven't made time much.

I need to finish the quilt i finally started for DS. I hope to have it done for his b-day in march.

I have a basement full of fabric I need to use or get rid of...

Thats really cool! A basement full of fabric sounds like a dream come true :P

Im trying to get hold of PVC fabric....its like that glossy black fabric (catwoman outfit).

I once had 5 machines and am now down to 2. A straight stitch (Alco) and a serger (Singer). Have had the straight stitch for 30 years and the serger for 20. A good one will last a long time. At times I've made part of my living with them.
I've gotten rid of a ton of fabric in recent years and 100s of patterns.
You should be able to get the fabric on line. I don't really like buying that way but if you know what you want and aren't trying to match a specific color, pattern, or wieght, it is probably your best option.

When you work in Fabric stores for almost 10 years it Mounts up!

Hmm.. haven't thought about selling online. Might be an option. I have donated some.

I want a sewing machine (but I've been saying this for about 4 years now), but have not the first clue how to sew, lol, but I've always wanted to learn, but me and hobbies like that don't last a long time. Photography and reading are about the only two that have stuck throughout the years. But, I'm just tired of taking everything down to the dry cleaners if anything needs to have sewing done.
