Pole Dancing
To start with, I am 3 days away from being jobless. I am not anxious about it right now career-wise, but I want to stay fit and at the same time enjoy what I'm doing.
I had a great amount of gymnastics growing up until my college, been into dancing a little and some circuit training recently. I am not into the fitness level I want to be in and I am going to get there, hence the interest in pole dancing! Woo-hoo!!!
Those of you who do this, I need your help to get me started. I have looked up for some instructors in my new area but alas! no one is available, unless I am willing to drive for about 1.5 hours - yeah, that's right - I'm from the middle of nowhere.
I do not appreciate links or self-promotions here, but real advise from real enthusiasts or friends of or those who are knowledgeable.
I am on entry level, I need to get instruction videos and a good pole. Where to get them (NO WEBSITES or LINKS), what kind of pole and its quality? When it comes to videos, which kind is good? How to execute the moves, using the pole, chair, (burlesque - once I am ready to give my loving husband a treat), among your other tips.

This is actually a good idea, my friends girlfriend is a pole dancing instructer and she set it up and let all us girls have a try, its soo hard it would def be a great work out! THe pole she had was portable, it kind of strteched to the ceiling so that it didnt move (Hard to explain) i would imagine youtube would have maybe a few vids?

Now, back to the poll dancing, everything you do in life you do for YOU... Something you want to do and this is a hobby as well as a sexual excitement
So take the I'm jobless out of it, and add this to the me wants, and hubby will like, and it's one thing out of lots I intend to do...

lol - they just opened up a pole dancing fitness place about 10 miles from my house. In a nice suburban little area and apparently it is a big hit. I keep teasing my hubby that I'm gonna start lessons and I need a pole mounted in the bedroom, at least a portable one.
I have heard that Carmen Electra's pole dancing fitness videos are awesome though.

Yeah, I read something about her and I'm considering getting those. Now I am torn between rotating and non- rotating poles. I'm 5'1 and of course I have a small grip. I wonder which kind would be best for me?

I have a pole in my room that is a portable, spinning pole. It is the x-pole brand and I think it is awesome. It cost me about $300 new off of ebay. It holds all my weight spinning around and everything just fine. I bought Fawnia Mondey's learn to pole dance series which are good but you can also get some great lessons for free on youtube. As for whether or not you should get a spinning pole, imagine spinning yourself around on a stationary pole, way harder. If you are just wanting to pose and look sexy, get a stationary, but if you want to do spinning tricks and all that get a spinning pole, mine also has a pin you can put in to make it stationary. Hope you get one, it's a lot of fun!
