I wasn't sure which forum to post this on but I need help with figuring out my school

I've wanted to study fashion since I was 15, I've had a hard time know what type of education would be best for me and after I graduated high school I had people push me in the wrong direction say I would benefit from having this before I do that. I went back to take an extra year of high school because I had the wrong credits for university. Then at the time I couldn't decide on fashion design or fashion merchandising and I wanted to go to this out fo the country school so anyway i took a year off and wasted time and then my mother encouraged to take a 1 year secretarial program.

Afterwards, I did a 2 year diploma in business administration major in marketing and Im not transfered into third year at a university in a bachelor of business administration major in marketing minor in management. I never really dropped out of any of this because I was too far in the program and it would have been a waste of time & money. I want to do what I really want is get a bachelor of design in fashion communication (videography, web/graphic design, writing, art, styling) I could of minored in marketing in this program I should have known better!

I want to work in media with marketing in the fashion industry but what do you think of my idea? and Is it neccessary to get a Masters of Business Administration - Marketing and/or Masters of Arts - Fashion?

I understand masters degrees are more for "high achievers" and people who want better jobs, more money, is this something I should consider? whats are the negative and positive outlooks?

I understand I cant do this all at once and its more of a work & go process you have the option of pt/online etc.

    any feedback is appreciated.

Think of it as what is actually going to land you a job. If you can find a job you would like with only a diploma then great, less time and money spent. Arts degrees are pretty notorious for going nowhere, but there are places that are selectively hiring for things like fashion and graphic design. It would probably be beneficial to find a company that you like for example, and check their career sections to see if they are hiring in order to get a scope for what sort of education they would be looking for. Or send an email asking if they prefer any sort of education standard, i.e diploma, certificate, bachelors, masters.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.

    OK Thanks,

I researched it a bit and most master programs are for people who want a career change or to getting a higher paying job. I think you can do what you want with just a bachelors degree a masters just gives you more benefits but very few people have them I'm told it's more for exceptionally smart people.

I think I'll stick with my 2 bachelors I'll still have all the same skills I think the masters is just a continuation of what you already know. I'll go back and get it if Im told I need it but I don't think it's necessary.
