Beautiful.
As I sit at home, many flock to the club
Girls of all sorts let men get free rubs
They shake their booties and dry hump to the beat
For many this is how they will first meet
Numbers are exchanged for brief misleading passion
And women complain in that annoying fashion
How they're not respected and don't understand why
They blow his phone up as they cry and they cry
The reason couldn't be that they have no respect
For the person that their vanity mirrors reflect
No it must be the fault of the man who made clear
"We're gonna have sex then you'll get out of here"
Taking their clothes off to scream out for help
"I clearly don't have any respect for myself"
So they go to these places in a quest for love
And when they lay down, they "forget" the glove
Yet somehow I'm lame because I refuse
To let my body be objectified and used
I love me too much to let these men have my piece
From my untidy hair to my aching feet
So next time you feel the need to call me a name
I hope that you choose to call me lame
Because I respect who my life has made me to be
And at the end of the day.. I am me.
Beautiful.
Behold the presence of the Father in all beings...
One of my favorite poems I wrote. This is an issue that's only getting worse. These young girls are mimicking these "role models" on the television. I wish they would admire someone worthy. Knowledge is power. Looks can get you far, but only in the superficial world.
ccraig42, you have an outlook that not many young women have these days. I could read your posts all day, as they reflect a young female that respects herself. You have my admiration for this trait, as I see women as people and not objects. You are correct, young Ladies have terrible role models. Just take one look at this so called, "Lady Gaga" and a few others. They think they are so great and the whole time the so called stars lead a life of misery all the while put on the "model's smile". It's a disgrace as I see it. It's refreshing to see someone who has more Class than that. My hat is off to you~![]()
Thanks Mark! As for GaGa...I don't think she's especially disrespectful to her own image. She's just extremely unique. I admire her bravery for being out there the way she is.
