    Tuesday was Mange Day.
Being social they go out and get invovled
    with all sorts
    so of course
    come home with mange.
So I had to go and get more mange treatment.

Of course, they behave as if the act of bathing
    is torture and run.

The two little ones I still have, Runty and Elections
    are easy to catch.

Cricket, my found puppie is another one who decides
whatever it is I am trying to do she will object.

Niblets, the Mike Tyson of dogs...three times I had
to care for a bloody half dead mess of a dog who
can't stay out of fights, happens, however to be
    intelligent.

He walked away from me and the treatment and
I said, "Fine, I don't like you anyway."
    So stopped, and lay down.

Junie, the mother dog, I don't even bother.
She's totally feral. Eventually while she was
eating I doused her with the remainder in
    a bucket.

Petunia actually lay down and allowed me to
    bath her.

I don't know where France is, haven't seen
her, so she could have packed up and left.

Denys, the Alpha was another ambush bath.

    Oh joy.
Three more weeks of Mange baths.

Kay, I was just reading about your dogs....I am not sure what is funnier, you or all your dogs...Your names for them kills me...And I think you know all of them....I'll bet it is funny with you coming home on your motorcycle and them following you...

We have two dogs...They will soon be 2 years old..This is amazing in itself because in the early going, I didn't think we would keep them this long..Anyone who is thinking of it, don't get twins...Double trouble...But they are so cute now.. Don't ask me why at this later age in life but I gave in to my husband and allowed the dogs...Brand new house and carpeting..We have gone through 3 Spot Bott's...They have the cutest names in the world but too cute to put here so I will call them "The Horrible's". They are birth twins...A boy and a girl and small dogs...Very expensive and from all the things they have gotten into in the 18 months we have had them and surgeries, they are literally worth a small brand new car....But we love them...At least most of the time...They are different colors and despite my misgivings about getting them, we adore them...The girl is brilliant...She now speaks seven languages.....The boy is dumb as a brick...He thinks his purpose in life is to refuse to be trained and hide when we catch him making a mistake...She just looks at him and grins...

Our home is very large and if you saw the two of them stalking each other and playing hide and seek and just being puppies, you would see why we just can't grow old...We have a 50 ft. hallway connecting the master bedroom and the other end of the house where the guest room is and library...This is their race course...We have the Kentucky Derby ran regularly here and life is so much fun...At night they are put in their night cages. These are in the library and not a sound is heard after each opens their door with their nose and goes into their cage to their bedtime treat...Gosh this is fun.......All in all, easier than raising children....

For all you young people, these are the wonderful rewards in life to think about as you age...If I had to do it all over again, I would not have it any other way....TC, C

I learned that only dogs become too dependent on the person.
And so I like them to have their own little society.

    Junie just dropped three more.

Paddie...(St. Patrick's Day) Perky, (I told you about
the Coffee perculator) and Rainy, (as it's rainy season
now...think of a shower on High and you'll know what
    rain is).

Niblets is gone, I don't know what happened, assume
another fight, and this time he lost.

Runty is the only one to survive out of the litter.
This may not be via death as people see them and
think that they are worthy to be stolen.

Considering how many I have, as long as the person
is going to give them a good home, fine. If not,
    they'll find their way back.

Scotch...(named for Scotch Bonnet Pepper) went to
live with another family, then returned. this was
many years ago, so I'm accustomed to my dogs
'running away' from home, and then returning.

I wouldn't mind having more dogs. I really like
them. You'd be surprised to see how they can
climb up on things, like cats.

These names kill me....Now for my trick question..... I fear asking this but I must.....OK....here goes....I assume you have a lot of property to let them run wild....Question?????

    Do you keep them inside???

With your answer you must remember that you have said that are not trained......

    Default Absolutely !!

I adore dogs !!! I have a ****apoo and his name is Bogart !! He is my love !
He looks like handsome Humphrey Bogar in Casablanca ! His coat is a built in
"Tuxedo !" He is all black with a white chest (his shirt, lol) and he has a white
mustache and beard He is extremely smart and would be wonderful should
I ever go deaf (hopefully never !) When he was eight weeks old I was cooking
brownies and the timer on the oven went off and he went and sat in front of
the oven. When the phone rang he went and sat next to it. He still alerts by
doing this to whatever sound happens at the time. He's very social and loves
people. He is Mommie's boy !!!

    Juniee & of course "Bogie"

Inside of what? An airplane hangar?
These dogs won't go inside of anything
When I first rescued her, Cricket could
lie on the mat next to me for hours just
lie there in the house with the doors
locked and quite alright. Now, if she
comes in and I close the door, she gets
    indignant...

And why, after what I posted would you
think I'd let them in the house?

If I open both doors, they run through
the house as if it's an obstacle course.

If I stops raining I'm declaring another
mange day. I don't know what is going
on with them, but they've turned into
    ecosystems.

I think the pups are too young for a
    mange treatment.

BTW, the mother, Junie is, of course
aggressive...and who is trying to fight
    her? Runty. Little Runtie. Vicious
    little Runty.

    She's as big a chihuaha...(prob. spelled
    that wrong) she's a dwarf. She doesn't
    know it.

Junie is her mother, four times her size
    and she's fighting back.

Cricket is taller than all the other dogs
    but not aggressive.

Denys misses Niblets. He used to love fighting
with him. Now he has no one to fight with.

Kaylar, I think we may need a family tree graphic ... this is getting complicated!
I only have a kitten here at school (her name is Biscuit and I love her TOO much!) and I take care of an outside cat I call "Zorreo" (her name was Zorro until I found out she was a girl ... and Oreo was just too much.) I basically feed the strays because up until lately we didn't have a Humane Society for kitties. What else to do?
The doggies, they get snapped up. For better or for worse.

How many generations can I go back?
I started with Lion when I came to
    Bull Bay in 1981.

    Lion begat a whole heap.

When I moved down to the Beach
I had to load up someone's car
    and eventually arrived with
Dani and Scotch, and a few more.

    Anyway Dani's son Rags became
    prime dog.

There were six other dogs, all
    females, and one night, he
overdid it and died with a
    smile on his muzzle.

My next prime dog was Cremey.
Cremey became an Only Dog as everyone
else died in the Great Parvo epidemic.

    Then he met Muums.

According to local gossip Muums lived
next door. She got preggers and came
over here to have her litter.

She stayed, and her puppies grew up
    here.

Anyway, his son, Cokecak became an
only dog after the next epidemic.

(These are all feral dogs, so I don't
know where they are when I don't see
them, but I do know that they are
wanted for robbery of fish by a
number of fishermen, as well as goat
    murder.)

Cofe was alone, and one day I
saw him coming up the path with
    a female dog.

She ran away when she saw me, but
I told him he could invite her
    to dinner.

    She stayed.

    According to local gossip this
    dog, Junie, I 'invegled' to
    abandon her owner.

    Anyway, more dogs were born,
    and more died, and then
    there was Denys, who became
    prime dog, his brother Niblets,
    who is gone, and others.

At the next epidemic, I used bissy and
ashes, and forced it down the muzzels
of the dogs I could catch.

So Denys, Junie, Niblets, Petunia survived,
    the others did not.

Emily, Hurricane and the rest of the litter
    died.

    Right now
    there is just Denys, Junie,
    Cricket, Petunia, Runtie and
    three puppies.
