Hi there im thinking of starting out a new business that involves making shampoo and selling it of coarse does anyone have any nice homemade recipes that i can start with or practice with.I enjoy stuff to do with hair care and i thought why not venture into that.

i recently bought some shampoo making kits and was AMAZED by the complexity of the process... had to put it into the too hard basket for the moment. i would love to have a go at it though eventually.

i adore scents like coconut oil, jasmine etc, so that is what i would use to add some scent to the shampoo.
at the moment i am using shampoo soap bars ( pure soap, nothing else) which have the best effect on my hair, just haven't been able to find any shampoo that really suits my hair, which is thick and coarse, with a tendency to be dry.

I saw this post earlier but did not take the time to post on it...I hope this bit of advice helps a few...If you are planning on doing this make sure that you are well insured...You have no idea of what a pro can do to try and rob you blind...They will claim just about anything from sickness to not getting the merchandise...You have to be protected...Shipping and records can be a big problem because you now will have Uncle Sam wanting a piece of the pie...This is called small business. From this venture you could very easily lose money plus if you have an ambitious person who wants to sue you, so you could lose your home...APPROACH WITH CARE...

I am into my third business now. Started my first at 28, with a business publication.

It is important to do a Business Course, apart from needing capital regardless of what field you choose to go into.

It will cover everything from taxation, super, payg, how to run a successful business, importance of an accountant, growth expectation of that field, cash flow, KPI's.. There is a vast amount of area to cover to be successful within a business.

Also research other smaller companies if you can, data search for in-stance how many small businesses of your type exist as competitors.

And don't be frightened to write goals, it is a necessity, so where you want to begin is your first goal, but where would you like to end up?

YOu are allowed to dream as well, as long as you have all the right ingredients in place so you know the forcast of that dream before hand, aim at it and work for it. It doesn't have to be financially it can be as small or large as you want it to be...

The real entrepreneur in life, knows where to go and what to get. He anticipates and when he does this he/she gambles. He/she must be prepared to wait out a drought and have cash reserves so this is only a hobby....BUT the rewards for the knowledge of many years which are now brought forward can make you shake your head in disbelief...

I would never go into business where I could get hurt..If you are good and what you have is a commodity that is desired by many, you really can never fail....But it takes a creative mind and takes a person that can be happy in this venture in life....to approach it and be a winner.....

I do just want to add that people should do their homework like CW has done with her business before they start out...Be aware that no matter how much you trust people that people are not always to be trusted. Try and find an idea in your mind that is different...Grow with it and when you are able start out small, do this and go from there...Just make sure that it is your expertise and something that you love and not something that is a drag...TC, C
