I believe in self protection. Those "security" systems give a person a false sense of security. My wife used to be an operator for one of those very same companies. Very rarely did they ever catch the "perp", the Police showed up after the crime, dead bodies and such. They only respond After the fact, they don't stop the crime from happening. My wife's words, Not mine. She is going in May to take a handgun training course for self defense. I not only support women carrying, I encourage it and wish more did. Just for the fact that they will be able to defend themselves regardless of where they are or what they are doing. It's all about knowing your surroundings and being aware of the situation you allow yourself to be in. I personally carry 24/7 to protect not only my own family, but my neighbors out of which are 2 single Ladies who live alone. I'm not a law enforcement officer and don't pretend to be, I'm armed and don't take any from any thug or wannabe gang member. Everyone in my neighborhood knows I own guns, I don't get pushed around and I stand my ground. I don't intimidate anyone except the thugs. And No, I don't draw it on anyone that isn't an emminate lethal threat. So far I've never Had to draw it and hope I never do, but I have the ability to prevent the coroner from bringing a body bag out for me or my family.
This is solely my wife's view and my own view. It is intended to empower women to take their own safety into their own hands and not wait for help, but rather to be their own help. Kind of hard to rob a Lady when She has a gun on you, eh?
