    Well............

I'm old enough to be your Mother, so it wasn't constructive critisism, rather ensuring it is what you want, and you know what you are doing..

You know all the threads here of break-ups and there were heeps of problems before hand, and then they realised that they really didn't have as much in common as they had thought, purely, they had "settled"...

So checking up ... what? haha.

It's good if however, you can see things and then evaluate them and put them into perspective.

    But, on this comment?

I told him we need to be a team because, hes my mate, my partner, my best friend and I will be more than happy to just listen to him and not say anything unless he wants me to.
I say , yep you do need to be a team, he is your friend, partner, but you don't just listen and shhh, "cause he's a man", like your Mum suggests in my opinion, that is so old fashioned it's not funny.

    You "communicate" ...........

    CW
Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
    It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.

Like everything in life that's hard to achieve

Lol I know. My moom is old fashioned, I don't listen to that. But what I meant was because he has some underlying issues that need to be resolved, I would much rather be a friend and let him vent and just listen (I didn't mean "just shut up and listen" ) than try tell him how to solve his problems (unless he wants to) Because he listens to me and doesn't say anything (unless I ask him to) But we don't tell eachother to shut up...sometimes we just vent and listen...be an ear or shoulder to cry on sort of thing
