I can tell you why that is, at least in my own jurisdiction.
We changed the law to have one ground; in my jurisdiction
it is 'irretrievable break down of marriage'...(paragraph 12)
Under that we have a SENTENCE OR TWO which defines that.
So you will see a divorce petition which will state something
like;
We were married in 1999 and the marriage went well, then
my husband began having affairs with other women.
or
After our marriage in 2001 my husband began drinking and
has become abusive to me.
We do that so as to avoid the titivation of the court staff
in reading people's private business over their lunch...
"Oh, look, I've got a good one!"
In Court, the wife will stand up and go into details until
the judge has enough, but for the document itself, one
sentence is suffiicent.
