As am i, I love to read. However, are you familiar with his other books..? Some take place before the Hobbit and trilogy..

I have read the Hobbit and the LOtR books but not the others yet. I hear the Silmarillion is a hard read. I have dyslexia and it takes me a very long time to read a book. I do enjoy reading, it just takes me a long time. Sometimes I have to read the same paragraph 5 times before I can comprehend what I just read.

I did not find The Silmarillion, to be a difficult read. But i am not dyslexic. If you were as interested in the others, it may open up far more information as to some of his LOTR characters..

The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, I found the poetry as fun as his character in LOTR.. (Goldberry too)
