You can care about everyone - but you can care about people you know, or people you have heard about.
It is easy to view the world's problems as too big for any one person to worry about - and they are. But just as there are a lot of problems, there are a lot of people to try to fix them.
I don't know what to do about the problems in sub saharan Africa. There is some tiny bit I can do about the troops in Iraq, so I will try to do that.
