Does anybody know of something I can do for his scratching?? Its driving ME crazy...nevermind the dog.
So now I have to go and buy a special food....thats like...50 BUCKS A MONTH...and I have to get him fixed A.S.A.P, and get his one testicle removed...bye bye moola...

You must be joking when you say you don't want him anymore. I find it amoral to acquire a dog just to breed it. Having a pet means being responsible; if you're already being asked to be responsible for your younger family members, why did you get a dog?

Whether or not you breed a dog or register it with the AKC has nothing to do with a testicle not dropping. The only problem that I see would be a if you (or owners of future puppies) were planning on showing your dogs.
Two testicles are only a "requirement" for showing a dog.

Don't understand why you would need to get the one testicle removed.

You are a lover of animals that I recall.. So, this comment is far fetched hey?

But, you felt you purchased this dog to make money, well I have a Husky, she was purchased to make money but her legs were to short, so the owner tormented her (male) the female loved her.

Still today, some 7 years on she flinches when a man comes close to her and if i put my hand above her head, although she now is very curious about men, due to my ex-husband and goes to them but wary.

So, the little thing didn't turn out to be what you expected, love it anyway.. Try again, another time and check the dog over through professionals.

As, for itching? probably has fleas.

acerousme, Pardon me, but I truly wasn't trying to make fun of your situation. I was just trying to bring a little humor to the matter.
Look, it just like the girls said. Certainly you knew were going to have to feed the dog anyway, right. It's not the end of the world acerousme.
What I would do if I had the money, give it a complete physical. And step back and look at the whole picture.
It may not be as bad as you feel at the moment.

I just lost a dog that I loved dearly this past winter and I think because I almost lost my own life this yr. I cried for almost a week, on and off, the wife couldn't believe it. I say that to say this, build a bond with this creature
she'll love you like no one else can, chin up girl!

    Have a good day!

I find it a bit mad that the dog is scratching itself because it is allergic to its food? Who told you that? More likely fleas as CW said...or allergic to shampoo/ washing powder you use to wash his bedding/ something environmental.... if he was allergic to his food, he would react differently..such as swelling in his throat, gasping for breath etc...

    Get him some flea treatment?

Fallen is correct, one testicle doesnt mean that he cant reproduce. In horses, when we castrate them and one testicle is still left (rig), they are still very capable of covering mares.

Treat his sore skin with aloe vera gel, or sudocrem, or calamine lotion.

The problem with mating dogs that only have 1 testicle dropped is that it's a genetic problem; the stud has undesirable genes that he could pass on to the young, making them less "valuable" as pets.
And it is common for a pet to be allergic to his food and scratch himself. Like breaking out in hives.
