Personally I'm clean. I agree moderation is best.
My nephews all have tats, two have them where they aren't very visable but one has gotten carried away, he's only 19, someday he's going to have different aspirations and ideas about what he wants in life and then they could be a liability.
Plain and simple LLL is right we have expectations about the people we deal with and expect them to look the part. When I'm hiring a contractor I'd look in askance if he showed up dressed the way I expect a stock broker to look, or the reverse, I don't expect to see the broker in steel toed boots with heavily calloused hands.
The excessive stuff makes me wonder if they are trying to make up for dull wit and no personality but having a colorful body?

there is no way you should discriminate against tattoos ... that is someones way of expressing themselves

i think tattoos are amazing and they shouldnt be judged bc of ink on their skin
that would be like discriminating the best engineer in the world for having purple hair which is rediculous.

LLL you said it right there...... dress the part

i rememeber this one show on A&E (i think it was that channel) that showed all about harley motorcycles. the kinds of people who ride them. the show started with the history of harley. then how movies used them for the bad guys and gangs. but then the same show showed how lawyers and big office peopple ride them. and alot of those lawyers had tattoos, but when in office or court, they have shirts with sleeves to hide the tattoos.
this just shows that people will judge no matter what. they will judge on how you dress, people you hang out with, how you talk, everything. even the job you have someone will have something to say.
what did kimmie say, she is a nurse and has 5 tattoo......... does that make her unfit to do her job........... NO! but if a portion of those people she said had no idea found out, would they still want her for their nurse?
i have said this many of times........... people suck......... animals can sence fear and danger, so they protect by that. but people they have no real reason to discriminate but they do because its part of our being to do so. so thats one reason i say people suck.
and the funny thing is......... we all did it at some point in our life and dont realize we did.

I agree with the "dress the part". It's all in how you carry/present yourself.

I have four tattoos myself but they are all located where they are easily covered up by clothing. Mine are just black, no color, as I am not a fan of colored tattoos. I'm also not a fan of females over-doing it. I think they can get to the point to where they have to many

tattoos can be very sexy. if they are in good taste and in a good location.
and just because one has a tattoo does not mean they are not fit to do their job.

so what if you hired someone who doesnt have any tattoos, and then after a few years they got one that fit thier desire. its a tastefull tattoo and looks great. good location, and reps only what that person wanted it to be. is the employer going to fire them now?
same as the hair style they have, the shoes they wear, the color of clothes they wear.
now it does descriminate. and rightfully so.
