Good definition. But there are many kinds of love. Eros is one we focus on and agonize over but the love of family and freinds is another. Love of all life. Surely they all have the same ultimate source.
To experience love, we must go inside. When you experience real love you get into a state which is beyond words. You are filled with a joy that goes beyond all emotions. True love is the love of the inner Self. - Swami Muktananda

Hey wild,
This is just a lil Budda Mantra I stumbled into today..... I agree with you fully. With the Love of self comes the Love of all. To not love yourself you are then in conflict of loving every other aspect of exsistance. Family, friends, life... the Universe.
whoops posted before i was done.....![]()
I posted this cause i liked it and well lots of ppl place love on external objects. Love Internally first then love will flow to all externally
Agree Joy... The perspective of loving yourself, can be taken wrongly, but it is important, in order to be free, you and therefore showing the world "you".. If you can't be you 100%, then how can someone else love "you", they don't know "you"..
Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.
Like everything in life that's hard to achieve
you must believe!
love is a battle field! - Pat Benetar, 1983
You're right that we often misunderstand loving yourself, it isn't self love as in total ego but self acceptance and tollerance. If we can't give ourselves tollerance how can we give it to anyone else? If we can't love our own strengths and weaknesses, how can we love another? We tend to project on to others, our feelings about ourselves.
in today's society (at least i know in america) we are constantly being bombarded with all these tabloids about celebrities. and more times than not, these tabloids are focusing solely on their flaws. this gained twenty pounds. this one lost ten pounds. she's too thin. what the h*** was she wearing!!!??? etc, ect.....so naturally, this makes everyone so much more selfconcious. we begin to notice all of our flaws. what is a flaw anyway??? who is the supreme ruler who gets to dictate what makes a flaw a flaw. our "flaws" are what makes us unique, special. if we can learn to love our own "flaws", then we can learn to love the "flaws" in other people, only not see them as flaws, but as something special, and ultimately, experiencing a lot more and getting a lot more out of life. SO LOVE THOSE "FLAWS"!!! NO MATTER IF YOU'RE ROUND, THIN, TALL, SHORT, DOESN'T MATTER!!!! LOVE IT ALL!!! IT'S ALL BEAUTIFUL!!!! LOVE WHO YOU ARE!!! YOU AREN'T SELF CENTERED! YOU'RE SELF ACCEPTING!![]()
all very good definitions of love...it's a human necessity, yet so hard to come by sometimes....
Love is a battlefield........... NO1 YOU ROCK!
