This is to all of those who have felt this way before....or even felt like they cannot.
I rise
I rise to the sun, which is always the same
I rise to the occasion, because I can
I rise myself above the standards, for me they are a road block
I rise above the octave, I want to be heard
I rise for myself, nobody can keep me down
I rise for the rain, it washes the slate clean
I rise for words, they are my strength
I rise to look from another angle, to get every detail
I rise to every challenge, nothing can keep me back
I rise above the water, because I am important
I rise to the real world, with my big kid shoes on
I rise over life hurdles, no matter what they may be
I rise above surviving, because I do more than that, I live, and love.

Ah yes, one of our local bands! They will be here in concert this summer. I'm fortunate that my kids like a lot of the bands from my youth and I like quite a few of the current bands.
