Vent.
Sorry if this isn't in the right spot but i didn't know where else to put it.
Today is so horrid.. Not completely horrid but it's pretty bad. I'm pretty sure i have Swine Flu and i got fired because of it. Yupp, i got FIRED.
I've been sick since Tuesday night and it's just gotten worse and worse. I have pretty much all the symptoms of Swine aside from fatigue which i'm starting to feel now. My fevers gone down because I've been taking medicine but this morning when i went to take my temperature, i threw up.
I was gonna go into work but after throwing up i called in. My manager then yells at me saying last minute calls hurt her business and how i didn't even look for someone to cover for me and she's just gonna take me off the schedule.
Panera has this moto where if you're sick you have to find someone to cover your shift. It's your responsibility, not theirs. You just won't get sick an hour before your shift start, WELL OBVIOUSLY I DID.
It's such b.s. because she's hated me since i started and i think she was just looking for a reason to fire me. WELL YOU GOT IT! This really sucksss. Now i'm jobless, broke as ever and prolly won't be getting the Miata fixed anyyytime soon. GUH!

What a terrible day Neaky, sorry for your feeling so sick (be sure to see a doctor right away!) and for your inconsiderate (former) boss. I really do believe in one door opening as another door closes... and fate and what is meant to be will be. This illness, not your fault, nor would be losing your job to it. There is somewhere else for you to be, and you'll find it. Good luck to you.

Thank you Hopeless. I tried going to the clinic because i don't have insurance now but they were filled up for the day. My boyfriend had the same thing over the weekend and he's better now.. Well, better than before. He still has a stuffy nose. I'm hoping i get better and that i don't get anyone in my house sick because neither of my parents will do good with this and my little brother will freak.. He hates throwing up.
And now with summer having started, i'm sure it's gonna be tough for me to find another job
I'm very sorry to hear that especially with the way this economy is going. I hate to say this because I feel that it's being talked about ALL OF THE TIME, for good reason but it does get old. I can't wait for things to turn around... Sometime.

Thank you ThexMrsI am feeling sooo much better, even though i do have a UTI, the meds are working! Lol.
The economy is pretty crappy. One of my close friends who is 21 texted me last night saying her mom got laid off and she had that job since Breeze was in 5th grade! I was shocked.
Just remember,
Employers have to lay off people, if they don't they lose their business, it's tough times, I am an employer.
But employer's, thinking they are "God" and can fire someone because they didn't find a replacement in 1hr and got sick? Are, heartless and more than likely will lose their business one day, (we can live in hope), lol.
I came back from America with the flu in a major way, had to sit at an airport at the peak of it, for 7 hrs!! It lasted 6 weeks, I was tested and it wasn't the Swine flu, there are nasty flus going about irrespective so rest as much as possible.
Remember, as well, employers like "go getters" those who don't give up, those who say I want this job, I am good at it, people still have to employ.
Don't look at the economy as, well that's it, I am not going to survive, I say this with knowledge, because i had two choices, go bankrupt or find a solution and work my butt off, finally the "work your butt off", has bought me more time, one more house to sell and it will buy me 3 months time, with 10 more to go.
I could have easily given up, too hard, can't do it...
Positive.
Strength.
Can do.
What bad economy?
Don't give up, fight and you'll get another job.

Lol, i know i know! I was going to go in even though i was still sick.. I hadn't expected to throw up but once it came up i was like, "Oh boy" and i was supposed to get a call or text from some who said she would lemme know if she could cover for me if I needed but failed to do so.
I have already picked up an application from Subway as much as i want to stay away from food but for the time being i don't care, lol. And as soon as i am better, Mark says we are going to go job hunting so i'm excited for that
Sorry to hear you were so sick but thank goodness it wasn't Swine! Austin was saying we had Swine but i doubt it.. He was the one who gave it to Mark and Mark gave it to me! What a punk, lmao.
