Default Senate Votes to Allow Guns on Amtrak

there is a story in yahoo news that the Senate has voted to allow passengers to travel with guns on the Amtrak train! Granted they have to be in the luggage car and they can't be loaded but ...whats to stop someone from sneaking in there and reloading....seriously?
I'm interested to hear everyone's views?

You can check guns on planes... Same thing, has to be in luggage and magazines packed separately...

I don't really see a difference in it. They can't be on your person, if it is like the airlines, they have to be LOCKED in the luggage with an FAA approved lock.

I don't see a big deal, but I'm also pro gun...

Yeah - it's hard to go one way or the other without seeing their checks and balances as to how they are going to handle the firearm, etc.

I haven't riden Amtrak in years but it used to be traveling cross country, not only could you access at least some of your bags, just about anyone could really. They were on racks by the exit doors and when the train made a long enough stop to get off and walk around, you walked right by them.
