I thought some of them were looking at this a while back. LOL you've got the prostitutes we've got legal medical pot. Seems to be a shop on every corner, ads on the radio and TV. It's a riot. They are advertising pot.
So, I live in a state, well, the only one, where prostitution is legal. To each there own, I don't necessarily agree with it, but whatever. At least it's regulated, I guess.
Anyways...
I was reading the news this morning and within two weeks, a brothel in the state is going to have the first LEGAL male prostitute.
I find this kind of odd, I don't know why. I just can't picture many women paying for sex the way men do.
In the article, the brothel owner mentioned they have about 100 applicants and that 10 look promising. But also said they have a unique situation because where he felt women in the business were more open to sexual relations with the same sex, they have to be sure to find a man willing to do the same. They don't want to have to discriminate against a male customer requesting an all male lineup.
I don't know, I just don't think this is going to work.
Anyways, just felt like posting about it. Not much else going on tonight. lol

We can only learn to love by loving. - Iris Mudoch, British writer
lol - that would be pretty funny to hear pot ads.
Yeah, Heidi Fleiss was going to try to open up a 'Stud' Ranch, but it never went through, too many health issues because where the female prostitutes wash their customers and check them for signs of disease before getting down to business, they don't feel checking female customers before engaging with a male prostitute would be as thorough. lol - like I said, to each there own, I guess.

Just to add... I think the analogy I heard at the time. You can always wash a stick, but you can't clean a dirty pond.

I'd be surprised if they got much business (from women that is), but I feel they are welcome to try. I've always thought prostitution should be legal, making it illegal doesn't stop it, just gets rid of the regulation and increases the abuse.
I think that on average women are less interested than men in casual sex. That makes it much easier for them to find partners if they want.
There might be some market for couples looking for a MMF threesome without attachments.
I remember wanting to smack those guys I saw handing out the cards on prostitution when I was in your state. But I also remember it felt strange to be in a place that allows it.
I kind of think it may become popular having the men selling it to the women. Look how many women who have one night stands. Maybe some of those women wouldn't pay for it but then some of them might. Personally I find it disgusting but if they legalize it, there is not much anyone can say about it, I guess.
Never regret something that once made you smile.
Oh.
It'll work.
I live in a place where of course there are more female prostitutes than male ones, but there are definitely a few very successful male brothels around.
I think one reason why male prostitution isn't that popular right now is the SAME reason why it's taken so long for women to come into their sexuality and have as much fun with it as males can.
I'm definitely against prostitution, but darnit, I was getting tired of being angry with MEN all the time for being the ones who pay for it!![]()
I'm reading the reader comments on the article right now, man oh man, they are FUNNY! They are bringing up some good questions though...
I mean, how many women will this guy be able to "service" in a day? Surely the female turn around rate is higher than the males.

Well see this can so be a sexist thread and I so have to be careful
BUT, we all know that it's our decision as a woman to say yes or no..
But, for a man he is the one that gets "no" and the more he does, the more he still needs to feel and so that is an outlet for him.
So a woman can go to a night club, flirt, say yes and doesn't have to go down that path.
But an older womanmaybe, may actually like the "being told" what she wants and him having to perform...
But a bi sexual? That's a hard call to locate and then for him it's money only but also for her it's money only, it used to make me feel sad for women... their reasons for doing it, yet men see it as easy money and sex?
Don't know i may be wrong and again i am being careful

you must believe!
I could imagine a male brothel getting business from men but don't really see it getting much from women.
I think its the emotional aspect. To me, generally men pay for prostitutes when they don't have other viable options. Since its ingrained into our brains as women that we're the ones to be sought after.. it would be so ego crushing to have to PAY someone to have sex with us....
Chris Rock does a joke about women not wanting to pay for things (I don't agree with this idea, I believe in being fair and everyone pulling their share but the joke...is funny lol) he said something to the effect of don't let a woman pay for the date because nothing dries up a woman faster than pulling out her pocket book lol.
Its just, really... even a woman who by the general standards of beauty was considered to be unnatractive...beyond unnatractive, even if she was mean, even crazy, would be suitable by some men for at the very least a one night encounter. So I mean... theres too many factors at play there for a male brothel catered to women to succeed.
And then just the nature of how male parts work, even with the miracle of viagra... the ability for them to pleasure women for a full paid hour of it.., a full paid night of it? etc.. I mean it would be hit or miss on satisfaction really unlike the reverse of that scenerio.
And theres the completely unromantic nature of it all that would appeal to women far less. Not that we're all sitting around reading novels with fabio on the cover and wanting to be bathed in milk and rose petals... but there would be nothing more cold and unfeeling on a romantic level than paying someone for sex.

But off topic, Lana. I am glad prostitution is legal in your state and I wish it was legal in every state in this country. I wish it was regulated. I wish the girls we're protected, ID verified that they are not some poor runaway or kidnap victim , where it is assured that they are chosing to do what they are doing and are doing it in a place they wont be beaten or killed.
There will always be men that will pay for sex, and there will always be women or men desperate enough for money to provide it. Its just sad always watching those forensic shows with serial killers and how they target prostitutes, such easy prey getting into cars with strangers willingly being taken to remote locations where no one even notices or cares when they are missed. Or being beaten and robbed of their money by pimps and customers alike. Its just such an ugly situation and regulation and legalisation is the only thing that would curb some of that.
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.
