I absolutely hate talking to people over the phone!
I love texting and I love talking to people in person, but I avoid talking on the phone whenever I can! Even with loved ones I feel terribly uncomfortable.
Does anyone else feel like this?

I'm exactly the same as well!!! I much prefer texting and talking in person too. Especially if it's a person I don't really speak to that often, I feel very uncomfortable and don't know what to say.
If I speak to someone I regularly talk to, like everyday, I'm fine with that. But nothing else haha

Same here!Yay, phone haters unite!!
I used to have a phobia about phones when I was a kid but then ended up working in a call centre!! I still have a bit of an unreasonable fear of phones but it not so bad anymore but will also avoid answering the phone where ever possible!

I love writing because I find I both communicate and retain information easiest that way.. but I'm also happy talking in person face to face. But for some reason I don't like the phone at all, especially for idle chatter.
I am totally the same way. I used to love to talk on the phone when I was a kid and I still will if I have to (esp with family since they live a couple hours away), but I would MUCH rather text or email and save the convos for in person.
You're not aloneI get about this all the time!!

Me too! Unfortunately I'm on the phone all the time for work. I've been guilty, sometimes, in order to just get off the phone, to just interrupt and say "Can you just send me an e-mail with all the details?" I can't believe I'm going to admit this, but I've even just disconnected the call and sent an e-mail to the person on the other end blaming loss of cell service or cell phone just died excuse, asking if they could just send the details over e-mail. I'm horrible.
My problem is I have a short attention span and fill the time chit chat drives me nuts. I can't just sit there and listen to people babble. The pages in my notebook on my desk are filled with doodles because I can't stand being on the phone because I don't pay attention.
However, I love talking person to person because I'm a very animated conversationalist with my mannerisms, facial expressions, etc.

I don't know why my wife gets mad at me when I talk to my dad or brothers and the conversation goes like this:
Me: How's everyone?
Dad: Good, yourself?
Me: Same here. Anything new happening over there?
Dad: No, same ol' same ol. You?
Me: Same here.
Dad: Good, talk to you in a couple of weeks.
Me: Sounds good, bye.
This same coversation has been going on for 30 years. Why should she be upset.
