Hey just wondering how does someone from Ireland with three A-levels (I haven't completed them yet but hoping I pass all of them!) Apply to go to university in America? I'd be quite interested in going somewhere like California so just wondering if anyone knows how to do this as the internet has not been kind to me in my search for info so far

My advice would be to email the Office of Admissions of the particular school you are interested in. Certainly they would be the fastest and most accurate source of information for you, since different schools have different admission standards.

    Good luck on your exams...

You can also come and visit the US and do what ExP said in person. That would be faster.

Make sure you apply for your student visa as well as asking the schools. You don't want to get admitted and then find out you can't stay in the US

Funding is your major issue. I am not sure whether the Irish Government will fund studies abroad.

That said good Uni's do exchanges in the second and/or third year of studies

I know in the best UK Unis exchange with most of Europe and specific Unis in USA and Canada. This is helped by the Uni but there will be some costs but less than if you went it alone

    Good luck
