Sounds like it's going bust. Google 'Belkin Components Belkin G+ MIMO Wireless Router Wireless router' and it should come up with some shopping results for between 50 and 60 bucks and it generally gets good reviews.
Anyone know of a good Wireless Internet Router? I am so tired of my freezing up and saying (Not Responding.) In fact it's done this 5 times since trying to post this tread. It is getting me really ticked! I'm using a Linksys. Which I've had for the last 6 years or so. Whenever the internet came out. It's wireless too. I just think the router is going on it. My mom and everyone says it's the weather but. I don't know. All i know is I'
m getting fusterated. I am online alot and hate the freeze ups.
. I am looking for a router to go on sale. Maybe get one around 50 or 60 at the most. If anyone knows of any good routers for somewhat reasonal price let me know.

I have just your run-of-the-mill Linksys that I purchased from a wal-mart like store about 3 years ago and it works well for me! I think it was about $50. I can get reception in any area of my house and part of my deck outside... Nothing fancy, but it suits my needs!
Maybe yours is just dying? If it worked well for you the past 6 years and is now giving you trouble, then it is probably the one you have is giving out... get another Linksys if you like them - otherwise as Tex suggested, I have heard good things about Belkin as well

I've used Linksys before. Decent, generic sort of brand as far as I can tell.
Does your ISP push any certain router? I think the one I have now is a 2wire ... I don't suggest that particular one but if you get a router from your ISP and it messes up, it will probably be easier to deal with than just one from the store.

I got a Netgear-N 300 cross your fingers![]()
Dlink is the best out there and has been. However the settings can be complicated and customer service is nonexistent. 2nd in line is netgear. My netgear does not perform anywhere near as well as the dlinks I always setup for my mom or the dlinks my husband had at his condo but it does do a good enough job given the fact my house is small and the internet is not that fast anyway. It does have port forwarding complaints. Unfortunately the only other working router is a dlink my husband got while in japan and it's in japanese. lol
I only use linksys when I want something very cheap to hardwire to for having several people play group games on differnet computers and never buy their wireless versions.
If you are using the linksys combined router and cablemodem - it has known serious bugs. They might apply to other linksys combinations of router and wireless. I have a stand-alone linksys wireless box (b/g) and it is fine. The wireless router also works fine with the wireless function turned off (and the external wireless box)
Good luck - I HATE configuring wireless stuff.
BTW linksys has OK text chat support.
I've only ever had good experiences with my linksys router, the only time there is issue is when the network gets bogged down by too many users. It is also quite old, and I would venture to guess that part of the issue it may have been having is that the firmware needed to be updated. I had to do this after my sister and stepfather got new laptops a couple years ago, the current firmware didn't work well with Vista (what did lol) so a quick update and they were good to go.
Which wireless router is it? The WGC200 is infamous for problems
