I often wonder why my parents decided to name me after a baby kangeroo.

Is Joey your name or is it a nick name? I have a niece named Johanna but her nickname is Joey. She's 6 so it is cute now but I wonder as she gets older...

I don't really care for my name. Nobody pronounces is correctly and it's just really a pain. It is unique, I've never heard of anybody else with my name, if I do a search on it, I get just a small handful of results.

My mom has no idea how she came up with my name. I joke and say it was probably drugs from the 70's. lol

well i think my name is orginal and very common especially now lately been hearing it alot. I was named Sarah Conner of The Terminator. talk about embarrassing! The meaning behind it is because I had to be strong. Like she was i guess. I never saw the movie though

I'm from Russia, the LAND OF THE ANNAs (which is my name). Not unique at all, but I do like it because it seems like it exists in nearly every language, so it makes people from other places less nervous around me.

Reason for name? I'm pretty sure parents looked it up in a baby book.

yes yes it is unfortunatly. HA! I know what you mean - cute for a 6 year old, Pathetic for a 24 year old!! Although on saying that, no one really calls me Joey - its really just been Jo.

I think Joey's a great name. Especially since it can be a man or a woman's name, those are the best!
