    I was just wondering....

I am thankful for all the great response from this forum and from all the wonderful people on this site. I feel like I have made some very good internet forum friends...Have helped with my personal problems and have given me very helpful hints.

    The question would be...
Do you think you would know them in a crowd?
Most people you know, you don't know their interself, but in the forum...that's all we talk about.
Do you think you would like them as much off-line and personal as you do on-line and unknown?

And No...I'm not trying to get your number or email....just a question.

This ought to elicit some interesting responses,

Would I be able to recognize anyone in a crowd. I very seriously doubt it unless I have pics to go on and a full description of what they're wearing at the time. I'm not real good at recognizing people.

Would I like them in real life based on their forum posts, I would say for the most part yes. The more interaction on different subjects aside from the main focus of the more popular forums is a good indicator.

Oh there are some people here that have let their words shine so much light on who they are as a person that I would totally want to be friends with them in the offline world.

There's a handful of ladies here that I wish lived nearby that we could just meet up in a coffee shop and dish the way we do on here all afternoon long. But I still feel that connection. Some women on here I've grown so close to that I can almost feel their hugs when they comfort me... and I know I would like them just as much in person as in here in this box.

I probably wouldn't be able to recognize anyone in a crowd... I may think, oh that person looks familiar, lol, but I'd be constantly second guessing myself.

Would I like them as much offline as I do online? You know it! Like HD said, I wish many many of you lived nearby so that we could meet up after work or on the weekends and BS. There's a handful that have made such an impact on me, that I'm continuously thankful for this place. It makes me feel like I may have a friend or two in a world where I don't, girlfriends, anyways.

I don't think I'd recognize anyone. I might second glance if someone looked like someone I'd seen photos of, but I'm usually in my own little world

Yes, I think I'd love to hang out with some of the people on here. I have numerous friends I've met from a previous board that I've met and visited and kept in touch with for close to 5 1/2 years now.

Being "Witchy here" But, here, it's different than say facebook, here, people bare their souls, we feel that, so there is "feeling" attached and there are souls we are meeting / seeing....

Would I recognise them in a crowd? Yes, a few I would, and I'd look at them in their eyes and they would go CW? hehe.. But, the majority of people do look a tad different than their photos so it would be hard.

No contest, I have daughters, sisters, etc here But, the friends I have made, in all honesty, If they left here, I would want them to keep in touch, as meeting people on a deeper level gives a sense of honesty and reality... I don't see a difference in meeting someone in real life or on here, when it's a true friendship, it is.

Some people are very different on-line than off-line. Not better or worse, just different. I doubt anyone from here would recognize me in the real world unless they already knew me. In that case I have probably left enough hints that they would know who I am. (I really should have been more careful).

I don't think I would recognize anyone else.

Well I've met Cat, so I'd recognize her
Of those who've been here a while and I've interacted with quite a bit, there are several I think I would really enjoy being around. No doubt RCoreyus is right that many of us would be a bit different in person. I know when I write my "voice" is a little different and all the facial expressions, gestures, tonality and such just aren't there. But over time and with many posts on different subjects you do get a feel for who is consistant and has internal integrity.

LOL we've called troll on some people who haven't been able to maintain consistancy in even a couple pages of posting on one thread. We all have multi-faceted aspects to our 'self', people who don't may be really predictable but they are boring and probably see things in absolutes. In person I can be very shy and quiet one time and really outgoing another time - it just depends on my energy levels and what's been going on. I tend need some down time occasionally.

I think it would be a blast to have a get together some time.

i might recognize a couple of people, but probably only because I've seen a picture, or have actually heard their voice. but probably not more than four or so.

For some reason, I just wanted to bring this thread back up. Maybe because I'm feeling a little emotional or sentimental because of the time of the month.

I absolutely adore all of the people I have come to know on this site. I've been on here a little over a year and have really enjoyed the numerous friendships that have been built. I miss and am curious about some that no longer come here too. I know, all in all, this site has been good for me. It does however make me mad that this world is so darn big! When some of you are having bad days, all I want to do is give you a big hug.

Alright, that's my sappy post for the year. lol
