Hey, I've been having an issue which apparantly doesn't happen with my friends.

I didn't know exactly where to place this post. So I thought a general area would be best.

Anyway, I can't sleep with my boyfriend! In the same bed. Even on a queen bothers me! I am a very picky sleeper, as in I need a fan on, earplugs in and stillness. And he does this all, he lays really still (the poor soul) and lets me run the fan even though he hates it. But I just can't get a sound sleep. It must be all mental, cause I can tell when he falls asleep, and it bugs me. Im so envious of the fact he can just fall asleep in 5 minutes. And I lay awake unable to...So eventually I have to sneak out and sleep in another room, or on the floor.

It bugs him, I know. Because he really just wants to fall asleep by me, ultimately fall asleep touching me in some way. And I want that too, a lot. But I can't even get over this hump of actually falling asleep. The only way that works for me ... is taking NT cold pills. But even that doesnt really work, I get more of a light sleep though, but I can't use them anyway because it isn't healthy.

What can I do? Well I never be able to sleep beside him?

I don't sleep w/ anyone else in the bed. Never have enjoyed that. Even when married, slept alone. Bedroom fun, sure. But no matter how late (or early am.) we stop - I go home to my own bed or a couch or the floor - whatever.

jeez that's sad. i can definitely understand your boyfriend's disapointment.
to me, there isn't much of anything that is more enjoyable than fallingasleep in the arms of the one you love. Do you have a problem falling asleep in general or just when someone is in bed with you? typically how long does it take you to fall asleep if given your perfect "sleeping conditions"? do you take naps with him ever or are those not able to happen either?

i can remember when i was younger. throughout my life and into my teens i was a light sleeper and had a very hard time sleeping with any noises or movements. after i joined the marine corps that changed for me. my
mind finally accepted that i wasn't going to have it still or quiet to be able to rest and sleep. i am still a light sleeper and will wake up to a mouse fart in the other room :P ...

however, i could fall asleep under a train trestle during an earthquake if i needed sleep now

I take about an hour to fall asleep in perfect conditions...And we don't really take naps. It is disappointing because I think it would be wonderful to actually fall asleep by someone and wake up near them. Maybe over time, I will. I think I'm going to have to stop babying myself with these 'perfect' conditions....and suck it up. haha! And then I'll fall asleep eventually from exhaustion.
