Does anyone like this? Its ever so much fun to just sneak around abandonments taking snaps! It is not against the law, well, its unlawful, but will not land you with a fine, not in the UK anyway.

To just take snaps, flick through paperwork and bask in the history really takes your mind off things, its a great cure.

Does anyone else do this, or would consider it? I would never ever vandalise anything or break in, Just climb a fence, through a window or an unlocked door.

I've not done this, but in the U.S. it is against the law - called trespassing, and can have both criminal and civil repurcussions, especially if "No Trespassing" has been posted and there are fences, locks, etc that would show the person who went onto the property would have knowledge that they weren't supposed to be there. Most likely, you would just be warned to stay away (if you got caught), but if someone really wanted to be a jerk about it they could press charges...

But I can see how it can be relaxing. Soaking in the history and appreciating the arcitecture.

It is illegal in the US, it's tresspassing. But I love buildings. I love to poke around in the corners and get into all the nooks and crannies, see how they are put together, and learn their history. Not long ago a gf and I went to a small local planterium, it belongs to my daughter's university and is over 100 yrs old. My freind was excited to see the stars and the moon, but when one of the members there offered a tour of the building I was first in line. The best part was the foundations down in the cellar you could see the brick and rock work uncovered. I also love cleaning out storage and closets in old buildings because you can see some of the history of the people and how the place has been used.
