Default Which hand do you use when...

Despite being right-handed, I recently realized that there are things I rather do with my left hand (which I normally consider 'useless'). I was wondering how common that is.

So, things I always do, are I'm better at, with my left hand are:

    - Egg peeling (the moment I had this brilliant epiphany)

    - Fastening seatbelt (regardless of where I'm sitting)

    - Hand-jobs

    - Fixing my hair

I can't think of anything else at the moment, but what about you?

I'm right handed but I do pretty much everything but write with my left.
Eat, play pool, skateboard, snowboard, water ski, drink coffee, open jars....etc

I'm right handed but grew up in a house full of left handed women - genetically very odd, as one parent is right handed and the other left handed (that's not a 50/50 chance, especially for female children).
I learned to do many things left handed such as ironing, on the rare occasions when I wear a watch it is on my right wrist.

I never understood how British people can drive by switching gears with their left hand... I wouldn't like that one bit.

    You seem to be amphidextrous!

I wonder why you prefer that, since your right hand has the most odds of being in use. But it seems like you can equally manage well with both!

Stressed: driving becomes even more fun when you go to other countries and have to drive on the opposite side of the road compared to what you are used to. Then do it in heavy and chaotic traffic such as in Southeast Asia. I have done it, even driving many hundreds of kilometers. Driving stick is also fun as your skill is tied to the hand you are accustomed to, so you tend to struggle to find the gear at the same time you are trying to make sure you are positioned on the road right. Then comes making turns and ending up in the proper lane. Of course, places where people drive on the wrong side of the road during rush hour (Bangkok), drive on the wrong side of the road to make turns (Phnom Penh) and have major intersections with no lights or circles (Da Nang) are especially challenging.

So the answer is I use whichever hand I need to, but am strongly right handed for precision.

    I'm a lefty.

The ONLY thing I can do with my right hand is the 10 key.
There is a method to my madness ........ I just haven't found it yet.

I switch off with tools, it keeps me from tiring as quickly. I'm not as precise with a hammer in my left hand but do fine with power tools. I'm a bit of a klutz sometimes and I think it's related to not being clearly "handed".
