I saw they are offering this as a form as exercise, i did a lot of pole dancing in an earlier life and i can tell you, if done right it's not as easy as it looks...

I believe it. Takes a lot of strength.
~Today, any person can fight the battles of one day It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's- yesterday and tomorrow, that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us therefore, live but one day at a time.~

There's a couple of existing pole dancing threads. A couple of ladies have done the workouts.

You can buy a DVD set and even a pole kit online if you'd like. I haven't actually had one yet, hubby is concerned of me breaking my arms or legs. Yep, pips, he blocked me on this one...lotsa reasons from him...he needs to strengthen the ceiling, etc...(he might be a bit embarasssed to explain with our folks as to why we have a pole at home. LOL).
But I still do love to learn just to get a sexy exercise routine. LOL.

Strength, flexibility and a lot of balance are required on this. If you're afraid of the pole, maybe start with a chair. Belly dancing could also be a nice one to try. I spent 4 weeks as a beginner, I love it. Unfortunately, the 2 hour drive back and forth killed my enthusiasm. I'd be willing to drive that distance if it were to earn my MBA/MA... I'd like to explore burlesque as well...

There are classes offered around here and I would join because it is something different and I absolutely hate the gym so it would be beneficial in that sense but my problem is that I have absolutely none, zero, nada flexibility.

Take it easy then. You'll develop it. You can join a yoga class to help you with that.
