What are your favorite empowering, "i'm going to be just fine without you" songs? Not "i miss you songs" "not, your a douchebag but I still love you songs"... but songs that convey that ' i will survive' mentality ... but without the 70's disco cheese factor..lol.

I know some people going through a break up like to listen to things that bring the pain... I prefer to listen to things that remind you what it feels like to be over it and feeling good again. So for anyone like me, what are those songs that make you feel like.. you're gonna be alright?
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.

Im the same! I would much prefer to listen to a song with the genre of 'screw you butthole' then a 'if i cry anymore to these sad songs my face is going to melt'.

I was listening to 'contagious Chemistry' by You Me at Six, and that totally got me into the whole survivor mentaility. Its not the whole song, just several lyrics i suppose that kind of gives you a push.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - Chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO-HOO what a ride!!"
"I dream about being with you forever." - Twilight

It's a hard song to find, but "Your're just another bump in the road" by Gary Lear (Country & Western) seems to fit your mood.

"F you (very much)" by Lily Allen. I'm not sure of the exact title but ohhhh my goodness it's instantly recognizable if you've ever heard it.

I'm not sure if you're going to like those, but lyrics-wise they are what you asked for:

    - Celine Dion: Ain't gonna look the other way
    - U2: One
    - Elton John: I don't wanna go on with you like that
    - Sarah Dawn Finer: Moving on
    - Darius Rucker: This is My World
    - Neil Diamond: Solitary Man
