    Default iPod froze up

I already tried the reset thing, upgraded iTunes, restarted my computer and the battery is fully charged. I didn't drop it or get it wet. The screen is just black and it doesn't make a sound when I push any buttons.

Anyone know the magic to fix it?

Which one is it? There are some magical button pushing combinations depending on the ipod.

Oh, it's the 120Gb classic. I've only used it a handful of times, so it's brand new....except the warranty is out, of course.

Sourpuss, this is probably not the problem but I figured I would ask anyways.
The lock switched isn't on, is it? I did that when I first bought it and I thought i broke the thing. lol If you are not aware that it exist, then it may be that.

If not, then sorry. I'm clueless on those kind of things but I hope you figure it out. I would be lost without my IPod!

Same one as mine... How did you try resetting it?

This is what I did. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds.

MIne is a classic so it does have that switch on top of it. It is not red on top, is it?

I got it at Costco, I wonder if I could just return it, no questions asked. They are usually pretty good about that sort of thing.

If you plug it into your computer, does your PC recognize it?
