Cody is less than an hour from Yellowstone coming from the SE. We always come through Thermopolis and it is on the way. I'm not very familiar with the Idaho approach. Just remember your bear rules.

The museum you speak of, do you know the distance from Grand Teton National Park? We are staying in Tetonia, Idaho.
We plan on spending a bit more time in the Tetons then at Yellowstone.

WC,
Yep, we plan on getting bear spray when there..
And plan on leaving the park as we found it.. Not interested in having any You tube moment, at all!!
We respect nature, and do not wish to confront any wildlife..
I read about the Momma bear and cubs that attacked campers.. Some people, down right Self-righteous Idiots....Ughhh!
About the Museum in Cody... would that be Buffalo Bills..?
Well,
I have observed wildlife up close and personal.. Black bear cub and momma close.....but from within a car. We were moving, and glad of it... Also, a pronghorn, Eagle, Bison, Marmet, Owls, and we hear... wolves every morning and evening.. It has been one of the most memorable vacations ever.. I have painted, drawn and just sat back to enjoy all that surround. All senses are "ON".. Today, a float trip... Who knows what we will encounter? So, with bear spray in hand, layers of clothing and binoculars/camera.. I am off... Thank you SP, LB, and WC.. for all the tips. They have come in handy!!
One more thing i found quite wonderful......
I NEVER thought you could see the milky way with the naked eye...But you could
from out cabin. I have never seen sooooooooo many stars! And every clear evening
i caught a shooting star in my sights! It was so awesome...
I am sure i will think of more things to mention about the trip...
Until then.....![]()
