If you got the chance, how many of you would change your real name? What would you change it to, and why?

Guess you'd have to put me down for a 'no' on that one. Can't imagine ever changing my name.

Dobber, Pat, you had to put your name in it

Mmm, my Mother chose mine, it's a tad more common here now in Australia than it was when I was born, but my Father, wanted to call me Venise, after looking at venision blinds on the wall, bwhahaha.. Now I've never heard of that name

I always liked Catia sounds like " CARTCHIA"

But, I've shortened mine now, even though, those around me won't use it

I don't particularly like my name, I dont think many people do, but I would never change my first name. My Mum chose my name, so I wouldnt consider changing it unless it was for my own safety. I have however, changed my surname legally.

I quite like my name It makes me seem innocent! So no. I wouldn't.
Whichever name I like, I'll name my kids it but I do have a rediculous list haha I met a gorgeous little girl named Disney once and since then i've loved the name!

I would, but I am just far too lazy to sign all those papers to do so.

I have a friend who thought the name Erin was too common so she legally changed it to Bryn. I thought that was odd since Bryn is almost as common.

I would never change my name Now..

As **Rest her Spirit ** My Cherokee Grandmother named me, as per "The Trail of Tears Tradition" ...

Although, when I was younger, I was teased alot as it is very Unusual and so far ... the only one by my name ( at least in the 6 states I have lived in ).. And in all of my 55 years ( almost, Next Month is 55 for me...) Everyone says it is the first they have heard of it As a First Name.

When I write it or say it on a phone or make an order online, Everyone mispells it or mistakes it for several names with similer sounds . GRRRRR !!!! Lmao

I did however stay in "Cherokee Tradition" when I named my oldest son, now 35, London...
Yes, London after the City. London, England... As a school aged child he hated it !!! Mostly due to the kids singing " London's Britches falling Down" to the nursery rhyme London Bridge is falling Down..

But now , he loves his name as the name London is more know as a Last name, not a First , as in Jack London or Julie London, Writer and Actress.

To those that do not like or think too "common" a name. Remember there is a Reason your Parent(s) named you that. If they are alive, it's a good question to ask sometime... (if not alive, ask a relative).

How they chose your name ?

Family History name or favorite Movie Star/relative ? Religon or Tribal name... Best Friends name, Just liked the sound ?

    Hate Your Name ?

Use your middle name or your Childhood Nickname or your * Self chosen * name. Like a chat name. Or shorten parts of your name or combine First and Middle.. Many ways to Be Who You Are in a Name you are Comphy with..
