People who excessively use 'chat speak' online

People who stand in line talking on their cell phones only to come to the counter to find out they have no idea what they want to order and spend the next 10 minutes ordering a sandwich to exacting specifics

Slow drivers...oh my God there is no reason to go 30 below the speed limit when you are on a very busy main road in the city!!!
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.

    At Work

    1) Customer in store " Do You work here ?"

No, I'm just wearing the Company's Uniform with a badge thats says not only my name and the Company Logo and my Position in the Company.

    2) " Do you know anything about cars ?"
Hmmm, I've been in this Business for 25 plus years, with this ceertain Company 5 plus years..
Nope they just keep me around for Decoratian. Eye Candy ya know ?

**** Yes what can I help you find ?

    3) After answering phone within 3 rings ( Our Policy ) explaining that I am with a customer or at the Checkout .
** They actually hear me talking to the Customer I am with when I answer the phone before or on the 3rd ring

    " I need a waterpump for a 1978 Ford F-150"

I can look that up for you as soon as I can am done with the customer that is standing right in front of me, Please Hold.

" So whats the Price and Availabilty ?"

I count out change loudly , to remind them I am with a Customer and get the proverbial,

"Only $9.56 ?, Wow I'll be right down"

No Sir, I'm at the Register ( or giving a price to the Customer Standing in front of me ) Can you please hold ?

" Um Sure, but if your busy I can call back ?

If you can hold it will just be a few moments till I get done here , I can get the parts Computer then to look up the part ?

    " Sure , Thanks "

*** I sure wish we had one of those irritating " Phone voice unhuman answering devices to answer that call on the 3rd ring and leave you on hold in Queque for the next Human that can give you the info you are looking for, as soon as they are availble to help you. Please listen to our canned old song music while you wait.

The next phone line rings.. **** SIGH****

Pet Peeve # 4, I know you only asked for 3 but.. This should be # 0 -5.

When you call anyone. LISTEN to what they say when they answer, Listen to the Background noise. If Automated message, follow directions. Push the proper keys and listen to the music or announcements.

Be Patient.. If it is important to YOU, you will get with a Human that can help. The reason Why YOU are on Hold, is because Another Person is before you !

And I am doing the best I can with what I have .

    1. When people don't hold the door open when you're right behind them.

    2. When a client hires me to design something and turns out they really had something (usually bad) already in their head but failed to tell me what it was. In the meantime I spend hours designing what the project calls for. Then they nit pick it one change at a time until it's what they failed to tell me they wanted in the first place....then complain about how I cost too much! UGH

    3. Rude cell phone people in line.

Drivers... Love the ones that pull right out in front of you, when there is no one behind you (just couldn't wait that 5 seconds for me to pass apparently), only to go 15 mph below the speed limit. If you are in SUCH a hurry to cut me off, you best be in a HURRY to get up to the speed limit.

Oh, also the ones, that drink coffee, smoke, talk on the cell, read the paper, put on make up or shave, all at the same time, while driving.

When everything is a fire drill... If it is end user error, it's not a Sev 1, wake up people and actually pay attention to what the H you are doing!

    1. People that are on their cell phones 24/7 in public. (Especially when you can tell its not anything urgent). Examples... people babbling while wondering a store, in a quiet doctors office, next to you at the gym etc...take it somewhere more private or shaddup already :P

    2. Mean people. People that will shoot a dirty look your way because they dissaprove of how you are dressed or some other superficial reason and put a damper on your good mood. People that talk down to you when there is no reason for it, just to make themselves feel superior, just mean for no reason at all type folks.

    3. When someone creates an emergency for me, they forgot to do something and now I must break my neck to help them get it done when they could have asked me a long time ago and given me time to prepare. Being pressured to hussle because someone else decided they were going to be lazy.
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.

    1. When I can't quite make the recipe as good as I remember/as good as it should, even if I've followed all the steps point-by-point.

    2. I can't find a place in my new area where I could buy what I need for my hobbies, or attend the classes I used to attend in my old place * sigh!

    3. Red dirt with no sign of intelligent life ( yup, I live in Mars!)
What counts in making a happy marriage is not so much how compatible you are but how you deal with incompatibility. - Leo Tolstoy

The clearest explanation for failure of any marriage is that two people are incompatible; that is, one is male and the other female. - Anna Quindlen

I actually know where Mars is (not kidding either, Pittsburghers will know).

Mine, really only one. People who do not have the common courtesy of :
    1) saying hello when they answer the phone (or good bye for that matter)
    2) not saying please or thank you

    1. People who pronounce the word "wash" as warsh....maybe its a Kansas thing but people do it here all the time.

    2. Misspelling of my name, I realize there are many ways to spell my name and do not think to much about it if you do not know me... but when I get an e-mail at work and my name is spelled incorrectly in the email it really erks me. In order to send an e-mail you had to have looked up my name in the address book and it is spelled correctly.

    3. Caregivers for young children wearing flip-flops... (probably because I work in an environment with lots of kids that like to run off and or run around the office to cause havic) How do you expect to sprint after a 5 year old with flip-flops on?

    1. When people call me "Crystal", I know it is close to what my actual name is, not sure why it bugs me but it does.

I second this one sourpuss! Seems to happen to me ALL THE TIME! Not sure what sort of design profession you're in but I'm sure the principle is the same.

    3. Bad typography (I hate Comic Sans, Papyrus, and Chancery... way too overused).
